Fiber, broadband, 5G, fixed wireless, Starlink. Businesses have more connectivity options than ever, but making them work together consistently is another challenge.

Bigleaf Networks and CTS Mobility have announced a new partnership that brings CTS Mobility's connectivity expertise together with Bigleaf's application-aware network optimization.

The goal: help businesses get consistent application performance across wired, wireless, and satellite connections, even as network conditions change.

Partners, your customers now have more ways to connect than ever. Fiber, 5G, and satellite are good news for the channel, as long as the conversation moves past the circuit.

Greg Davis in Channel Dive: "Customers don't wake up wanting more SD-WAN functionality. They want their business to work."

His advice is to start with what the customer is actually trying to accomplish:

Do they have multiple circuits that need to work together?

Do they have applications that can't tolerate a change in IP address?

Is IT trying to manage hundreds of locations without adding complexity?

Those questions get you somewhere. A feature checklist usually doesn't.

Fiber, 5G, and Starlink at the same location. Three paths to the internet. Is that redundancy?

Not if the fiber doesn't go down, and just starts performing badly.

The circuit is technically "up." Meanwhile a Teams meeting is breaking up, the VoIP calls sound terrible, and the point-of-sale system isn't responding. Nobody running that business cares that the circuit is available. Their application doesn't work.

Our CEO Greg Davis makes the case in Channel Dive: having more ways to connect doesn't automatically mean the internet works better, and application performance is a better test than uptime.

38 days. Hundreds of restaurants. Systems running at capacity across every shift. Houston Restaurant Weeks just wrapped — and for the teams that ran it, network performance was either invisible or impossible to ignore. Peak demand doesn't create new problems. It exposes the ones already there.

A children's toy retailer had an AI voice tool that let customers record personal messages at checkout — a signature part of the brand experience. Then the store's internet got shaky, and the feature quietly stopped working.
Nothing "went down." The store stayed open. But the experience that made the brand memorable disappeared, and customers noticed.

Bigleaf CEO Greg Davis uses this example in a new Entrepreneur op-ed to make a bigger point: AI is only as dependable as the network carrying it. Before the next AI rollout, leaders need to know what breaks first when the connection isn't perfect.

A busy restaurant during HRW isn't just full — it's a system under pressure. POS, reservations, payments, kitchen displays — all running simultaneously, for 38 straight days. The failures that hurt most aren't the obvious ones. They're the slow swipe. The spinning screen. The delay that adds up across a four-hour rush. Performance doesn't collapse all at once. It degrades.
