I made a lady’s last ever margarita

My restaurant is right across from our city’s hospitals. So we always have visitors/family of the patients eating lunch or just drinking at the bar. Today I had a gentleman come in and have a couple of drinks at the bar. Before I closed him out, he told me that his mother was in hospice across the street and if there was anyway for me to make her a margarita and put it in a Styrofoam cup so that he could take it to her. So I did. I also made it a double and rung it in as a small, which is significantly cheaper than the regular medium one. For those questioning the legality of it, idk if it was. All I know is that it very well could have been her last boozy drink. That’s it, that’s my confession.

EDIT- OMG, I wrote this before going to bed thinking it would get lost in the sea of post, but it didn’t! Thank yall for your kind words and awards! Like somebody said in the comments legality doesn’t equal morality. It was so nice and sad at the same time to do that. I really hope the lady enjoyed her drink and hopefully one day if we are ever in the same situation, we too get a nice double shot margarita before we go! Once again thx for everything! :]

Rudest Table Ever
Today I had an 8 top of school teachers. They were so beyond rude. They showed up right after we opened at the time it was only 1 person & she said there would be 8 so the host sat her & she was waiting for the rest of her party. They were the 3rd table in & after sitting for only 2 minutes (we only have 1 opening server so I was by myself) she comes & yells at me while I’m literally taking an order for another table & asks why I haven’t taken her order. I said I would be right over & she complained to the manager so my manager took her order. They trickled in 1 by 1 for the next 20 minutes & as each of them came in they demanded that their order be taken immediately. It was ridiculous, & each time I would try to address the table they would continue talking & when I was taking one of their orders someone would interrupt asking for napkins, a refill or a box it was ridiculous. At one point, I was dropping off food & I had 2 plates in my hand& my co worker behind me had 2 plates in his & as I’m sitting down the first plate a lady at the table snaps at me & says “where is my food, did you forget my food I’m seeing everyone with food but me” when my co worker was quite literally standing there with her food like we clearly still have plates that haven’t been set down. & it was just rude nuance things like that the entire time they were there.

Rude customers generally don’t bother me cause it is what it is but this I just can’t stop thinking about cause they’re literal teachers. Like these are the same people who get upset when you speak while they’re speaking & I just can’t even imagine how they’d react if one of their classes treated them how they treated me. & I just think it goes to show that sometimes unfortunately when you’re a server people see you as less than, cause ik good & well that they know how to conduct themselves in the proper manner but they felt they didn’t need to.

Customer left my tip like this, stuffed into the pocket of the book.
I can’t tell if I should be annoyed or not 😂 I could’ve completely missed it.

Having a BOH coworker in your corner is the best thing in the world.
General
Got some food at the end of my shift and my favorite line cook asked me what my favorite part of the dish was. I told him, then asked him why, and he said “so I can give you extra!”

I could have cried. The angels sung. I hope that man’s pillow is always cold, I hope every light is always green, I hope the employees always forget to charge him for guac at Chipotle, I hope his favorite song plays everywhere in public, I hope his favorite snacks are always in stock at the corner store, I hope all of his friends are available the second he wants to make plans.

(On a serious note, shoutout to the BOH lurkers in this sub. Thank you for all of your small kindnesses and especially thank you for not losing your s**t when we make a mistake in the middle of a rush that you now have to fix. You are braver than the troops and should be paid more money than God. We love you)
