Is your dog ready to learn some new skills?

Seattle Humane offers a wide variety of dog classes for every age and skill level. Our instructors are experienced professionals who know how to bring out the best in your pup.

We require anyone hoping to sign up for a class to attend our virtual Dog Training Basics seminar over Zoom. The next virtual seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4 from 7:00-8:25 p.m.

Dog Manners 1
Info: Dog Manners is all about building the dog/handler relationship through training, leadership and awareness of how dogs communicate. In class, we cover polite greetings, basic skills and techniques for preventing unwanted behavior.
Cost: $285
Dates: Tuesdays between 6:45-7:45 p.m. from September 1-October 6
Saturdays between 2:30-3:30 p.m. from September 19-October 24

Teen Dog Manners
Info: Teen Dog Manners tackles the unique challenges of training dogs during this tricky time in your dog’s life. Adolescent (or “teen”) dogs learn new skills such as loose leash walking, hand targeting and polite greetings in an environment that motivates and supports them.
Cost: $320
Dates: Saturdays between 1:15-2:15 p.m. from September 19-October 24

Reactive Rover
Info: For dogs who bark, lunge, or growl on leash, our Reactive Rover Program offers a supportive, step-by-step approach to improving behavior and building calm, focused walks. Through three progressive class levels, you’ll learn how to manage reactivity, increase your dog’s confidence, and strengthen your handling skills in real-life situations.
Cost: $425
Dates: Two options, Mondays between 5:30-6:30 p.m. or 6:45-7:45 p.m. from August 10-September 14

Shy Dog Manners
Info: Shy Dog Manners covers basic manners in a setting designed for dogs who are fearful of new people, dogs and/or certain environments. We will also teach you some skills to help your dog feel more confident and relaxed. It’s a safe space for your dog to learn at their own pace.
Cost: $320
Dates: Saturdays between 4-5 p.m. from September 19-October 24

Polly just came to us on a local transfer last week, so we don’t know too much about her yet. She is very friendly and willing to lean in for pets, so come meet her at Seattle Humane. Plus if you adopt her soon, you can ring in Polly’s first birthday with her on August 9!
