💙 Big news — and we need you! 💙
Since 2018, Humanize Homelessness has been helping connect neighbors and support nonprofits that serve the unhoused.
We’ve just been invited to collaborate with a global digital engineering company, known for innovation and enterprise transformation, to design repeatable, measurable ways to support nonprofits serving the unhoused.
👏 Kudos to this multinational for choosing to invest in the very communities where they serve their customers.
To meet this opportunity, we’re expanding our volunteer team:
👉 Leadership roles (5–8 hrs/week)
👉 Supporting roles (2–4 hrs/week or per-event)

Your support is helping us spread warmth one coat at a time! This week, we provided 80 new winter coats to students at Interlake High School. Can you imagine not having a winter coat right now? Together, we’re making sure Bellevue students stay cozy and safe this season. 💙❄️
In April 2023 Humanize celebrated with our unhoused clients at New Bethlehem Programs. We did this in partnership with Muslim Association of Puget Sound - MAPS MCRC. We appreciate Brent Loe Photography and Sugar Shot Films for their donating their expertise and time in getting our message out to the community.
If you know any other community that wishes to celebrate their festivals with their unhoused neighbors, please email us at [email protected] or DM us.

TIP #: We are wired to help people!! When we look at the problem statistically, it's overwhelming, it's upsetting, it's aggravating. When we look at it through the lens of the individual person, it's uplifting and in some ways it's very energizing.
will help you see the problem through the lens of humanity, as opposed to the lens of statistics.
You’re compassionate, so why aren’t you helping homeless people? Shankar Vedantam explains This is Shankar Vedantam’s interview with Kim Malcolm, which was so good we transcribed it (lightly edited for clarity).
