A 40th solar rotation made into a precious personal artifact 🌞 This white gold bombé setting now holds my clients’ grandmothers diamond alongside a Montana-mined pear cut sapphire, Septembers birthstone. In so many of my pieces, but especially this one, I can’t help but think about how women successively pass down patterns and information to one another and, yet, they never cease to amaze me in the way they take what they’ve inherited and create some new form of magic to inhabit and carry forward. The maternal line is always transmuting and giving until the end of time 💙💎🦋

As we were talking about diamonds at our initial consult, Layne was trying to decide between a couple stone cuts and its orientation. It quickly became a discussion about her natural personal energy, as it’s my hope that these conversations always do, and in a moment of clarity as she was looking at our Reni Ring wearing a oversized fur coat and a glamorous red mani she said something to the effect of, “I don’t think understated is my vibe.”

And she proceeded to select a 2.75 carat Asscher cut.
