Comcast Donates 30 Laptops to Support Lighthouse Mission Employment Programs - WhatcomTalk Comcast recently donated the computers, valued at nearly $20,000, to Lighthouse Mission Ministries in Bellingham. Guests and program participants will use them to apply for jobs, complete online training, and gain confidence using workplace technology.

We're so thankful for our friends at Comcast, including Vincent Buys, Comcast government and community affairs manager and a former Lighthouse Mission board member.

Thanks to Comcast's "Project Up," the mission received 30 laptops worth nearly $30,000.

“Having access to a computer can open the door to new job and career opportunities,” said Alvin Helms, interim CEO of Lighthouse Mission Ministries. “These laptops will help our guests learn new skills, search for jobs, and take important steps toward employment and greater independence. We’re thankful to Comcast for its continued support and investment in the people we serve.”

Congratulations to our graduates! The 2026 Recovery Program Graduation was a smashing success. These men and women have overcome incredible odds to get a second chance.

The Agape Home and the Ascent Men's recovery progam are long term (12-24 months) programs. They aid men and women on their journey of recovery and restoration.

They just got a big shout-out from the Whatcom County Health Inspectors for having clean facilities. Both were included in the top list with "little to no violations". Way to go, Kitchen and Liminal teams!

Lighthouse Mission is looking for a Sous Chef who can combine strong culinary skills with a heart for people. Our kitchen is about more than preparing meals, it’s a place where guests are welcomed with dignity, volunteers serve alongside one another, residents can learn new skills, donated food is creatively stewarded to serve hundreds of people and good nutrition supports holistic health.

We’re looking for someone who loves people, cooking and Jesus, enjoys leading and teaching others, and wants to use their culinary skills to make a meaningful difference in our community.
