I’ve endorsed the No Hate In Washington State campaign, and I encourage you to join me. A MAGA mega-donor has bankrolled two poorly written initiatives that would remove common sense protections for child abuse victims and basic student privacy. Washington is better than this.
Endorse | Join the Movement Today — NO HATE in WA State Support anti-hate initiatives in Washington State by endorsing inclusive education and student safety. Join community leaders in standing against harmful ballot measures.

I really prioritize building relationships between Washington State and our local government partners. That’s why I’m excited to announce endorsements from over 25 local government leaders in the 40th district. Check them out at:
Endorsements — Alex Ramel, State Representative (D) "Alex listens well. It's one of the most important qualities in a representative and it's uncommon. I trust his ability to find compromises and agreement, and to understand complex problems, because he listens and because of his integrity."

Conservative Whatcom County farmers are now realizing some of the consequences of the MAGA immigration policy.
I’m angry that people who should have known better helped enable Trump and his republican cronies and the real harm they are doing. But it’s a hard thing to admit that you’ve been lied to and fooled. It takes maturity to admit a mistake.
Trump has lied to and fooled a lot of people. We need them to recognize it and vote differently in the future. Let’s not make it harder to admit by saying “I told you so,” especially not in public forums and on social media.

‘Get them all’: Why are WA farmers blindsided by an ICE crackdown? Farmers are speaking out about immigration raids on farmworkers, saying they're startled by it and disappointed. Are we living in different information bubbles?
Trump is threatening war crimes of horrific proportions. There is no other interpretation of “a whole civilization will die tonight.” This isn’t America. Congress must intervene to stop this madness.

Let’s stand together against the lawlessness, corruption, and destruction of Trump administration and his Republican allies. This Saturday there are protests in Bellingham, Anacortes, Mount Vernon, Burlington, Blaine, and on each island in San Juan County. Follow the link for details.

No Kings As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power belongs to the people.

This year I passed a big change to the way that we tax wind and solar farms in Washington state. The new level tax, based on the system size, will be better for rural communities, school districts, etc, that rely on steady revenue. It will also be better for the companies and workers that want to build theses systems and need communities to say yes to building permits. It was a tough negotiation, but in the end we had broad bipartisan support.

This is such a great space, a loving place where people can heal together. I was proud to work with Debra Lekanoff and Liz Lovelett to support this investment in Skagit County’s behavioral health system.
