In case you aren’t aware of where I stand, it’s important that I say this publicly at least once. My great grandparents on both sides immigrated here. This country was founded on colonialism and immigration. People who are immigrating here through legal channels are being rounded up and sent to detention centers and others are being shot in the street. It’s sickening. I lived in Germany for a year, 1997 and 1998. I learned in great deal about the holocaust, the Nuremberg trials, the effects of the division of east and west Germany and the unimaginable suffering that the Jewish people went through. And now it’s like watching a replay in high definition. I don’t have the solution, but what we are doing is not the answer. No humans are illegal.
