Every parent wants their child to thrive.

A call to the SEAS line opened the door to home visits, playgroups, and support for this family. What started with uncertainty became a journey of growth, not only for their child, but for the entire family.

Early support services help children build important skills during the years when development happens fastest.

If you have concerns about your child's development, call the SEAS line at 360.715.7485. Free evaluations are available, and no referral is required.

Babies can't wait. Neither should support.

One kiddo's donation, supports another kiddo's early learning education🧸

Give your kiddo's old toys and swag a new home, or shop sustainably for new additions to yours.

Families can drop off items at Toddler Time or reach out to Aki to coordinate a drop off outside of our playgroups.

💐 Garden Party Highlights 💐

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our
summer Garden Party! It was a lovely evening of
connection, celebration, and community, and we loved
sharing the impact of the Brick House transformation
project with so many of you.

We’re especially grateful to T-Mobile for its Hometown
Grant, which has allowed our Ferndale location to
grow! From the additions of a new swing set, slide, and
wagon to community-centered art installations and
improved staff resources, these enhancements have
expanded what Brick House can offer the children and
families we serve.

We are so thankful for everyone who continues to
invest in creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where
children and families can thrive!

Staff Spotlight of the Month - Get to know WCEL staff better and learn more about what we do!

This month's spotlight is on our Early Learning Program Manager, Michael! Michael has been part of the WCEL team for 5 years and oversees playgroups and early learning classes across Whatcom County.

Michael says one thing about his role that may surprise people is, "How much intention goes into our classroom spaces and preparation." Accessibility, sensory needs, differing age groups, parent and child engagement, variety in activities, and more are taken into consideration in how playgroups are designed and structured. Visit our website to learn more about our playgroup and class offerings!

Thank you to Haggen for the donation during their Inspiring Change Together campaign and to everyone who donated!

This contribution will go towards our Early Learning Program, supporting WCEL playgroups across Whatcom County and helping kiddos and their families to develop skills and experience peer group socialization.
