Compete as a soloist, tandem team or a team of five. The Bellingham Traverse is a a fun relay race that celebrates the journey of wild salmon. Families, friends and local companies form Chinook (solo), Coho (tandem) and CHUM (relay teams) to run, bike and paddle through Bellingham’s scenic parks, winding trails and open waterways.

The final leg is HERE! After getting tagged by the mountain biker at Bloedel Donovan Park, the Greenway Runner takes on 4.24 miles through Whatcom Falls Park and along the Whatcom Creek Greenway before finishing at Waypoint Park β€” where the WHOLE team reunites for the final leg from the Acid Ball to Kulshan Trackside.

This is the home stretch. Leave it all on the trail. 🦡🦡

SEEKING SOLO AND TANDEM RACERS! We currently have just one soloist registered and five tandem teams. While this event is all about friendly competition, we'd sure like to see a lot more of it! If you are feeling up for the challenge, register today and join the fun.

After the trail runners charge up Galbraith, they hand off to the mountain bikers! leg 4 covers 6.26 miles and 558 feet of elevation gain through Galbraith Mountain before descending to Bloedel Donovan Park via Whatcom Falls to hand off to the greenway runner for the final stretch.

After paddlers tag in from the water, it's time to hit the pavement! The road bike leg covers 18.05 miles from Marine Park in Fairhaven all the way to Lake Padden Park β€” the longest leg of the relay.
