Tribal Relations Specialist Alaina Capoeman (Quinault) will be on campus Thursday, July 23 for a meet and greet at the Library at 11am. Alaina is a former NWIC student and has taught at the Port Gamble S’Klallam site. She will introduce the U.S. Census Bureau Tribal Relations Program, share information about an upcoming tribal higher education consortium meeting, and demonstrate several data tools e.g.: how many people self-identify as AIAN in Whatcom county 18+? How many people on the Nez Perce reservation have an AA degree? If you are unable to attend or you are located at a site and would like to connect with Alaina for your data needs, she can be reached at [email protected].
