🚭 Smoking and Your Hearing: What’s the Connection? 👂
Smoking doesn’t just affect your lungs and heart—it may also harm your hearing.
Cigarette smoke contains chemicals that can reduce blood flow and contribute to oxidative stress, potentially damaging the delicate structures of the inner ear. Research has found an association between smoking and an increased risk of hearing loss, including exposure to secondhand smoke.
Protecting your hearing means more than turning down the volume. Avoiding to***co smoke is another important step toward protecting your overall health—and your hearing.
👂 If you notice ringing in your ears, difficulty understanding speech, or frequently needing to increase the volume, consider getting your hearing checked.

🩸👂 Did you know diabetes and hearing loss can be connected?
Many people know that diabetes can affect the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart—but did you know it may also affect your hearing?
People with diabetes are more likely to experience hearing loss than those without diabetes. Over time, elevated blood sugar levels may affect the small blood vessels and nerves that are important for healthy hearing.
Hearing loss can happen gradually, so you may not notice it right away. Some signs to watch for include:
📺 Turning the TV up louder than others prefer
🗣️ Frequently asking people to repeat themselves
👥 Having difficulty following conversations, especially in groups
📞 Struggling to understand people on the phone
🔊 Finding that people seem to “mumble”
Taking care of your hearing is another important part of taking care of your overall health. If you have diabetes, regular hearing screenings can help identify changes early.
👂 When was your last hearing test? If it’s been a while, we’d be happy to help you take the next step toward better hearing.
❤️👵👴 Happy International Grandparents Day! 👴👵❤️
Grandparents hold a special place in our hearts. They share stories, laughter, wisdom, and countless memories with us—and we want to make sure they never miss a moment.
One of the best ways to stay connected is through good hearing. Hearing loss can happen gradually, and sometimes our loved ones don’t realize how much they’re missing. Difficulty hearing conversations, especially in busy family gatherings, can lead to frustration and even cause someone to withdraw from the moments they love most.
👂 This International Grandparents Day, give the gift of connection.
If Grandma or Grandpa hasn’t had a hearing test recently, consider encouraging them to schedule one. A simple hearing test can help identify changes in hearing and determine whether additional support could help them stay engaged with family and friends.
Because every “I love you,” every belly laugh, every grandchild’s story, and every family memory is worth hearing. ❤️
Celebrate the grandparents in your life by helping them stay connected to the people they love.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001.
For many of us, the memories of that day remain vivid. We remember where we were, who we were with, and the moment we first heard what was happening. It is a day that changed countless lives and left a lasting mark on our country.
Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11 and the families, friends, first responders, and communities who continue to carry that loss.
Our thoughts are with those who still miss a loved one every day, and with all those whose lives were forever changed.
