August 7-9 is our Suttle Lake Campout! Please register via our website in our bio. We have a limited number of reservations left, but we’ll be helping grab first-come-first-serve spots as well. We couldn’t be more excited to spend a weekend together in one of Central Oregon’s most beautiful places. Whether you’re camping for the whole weekend or just joining us for part of it, this is an opportunity to slow down, share meals, enjoy the outdoors, worship together, and simply be present with one another. If fire or smoke become an issue for the event, we’ll make announcements closer to the weekend. 🌞 🏕️

Hey CG fam! This weekend is our next Gathers so no LifeGroups will be meeting. We’re excited for Gathers this Saturday at Cultus Lake. 🌞 We’ll be starting with a discussion time at 10:30 then people are welcome to hang out at the lake for a few hours. Please bring a chair or blanket, sun screen, water, paddle boards, kayaks, tubes, etc. and we’ll have a fun day at the lake! A lunch of veggie burgers (and real burgers), potato salad, chips, and watermelon will be served around noon. The best parking is at the Cultus Lake Boating Site and you will find a large dirt parking area across from the Day Use area. You can also park at the boat ramp parking lot. We’ll have our CG signs up so you can locate our group when you arrive. Can’t wait to see you all there!

Registration for our volunteer event at the Oregon Cascades 100 mile race is now open! 😎 On Saturday, July 25th, runners from across the region will take on the Oregon Cascades 100, a 100-mile trail race featuring approximately 11,000 feet of climbing and descent through the beautiful Central Oregon Cascades. Common Ground is proud to be partnering with the event for another year, bringing volunteers together to support runners at one of the race’s busiest aid stations. Whether you’re helping fill water bottles, serving food, or cheering on participants, you’ll play an important role in helping runners reach the finish line.

This year’s theme is Backyard Dad. This isn’t just an aid station, it’s a Saturday afternoon in the suburbs. Volunteers are encouraged to fully embrace their inner dad: cargo shorts, tucked-in polos or button-up shirts, white crew socks, baseball caps, sunglasses, mustaches (real or fake), and New Balance shoes are highly encouraged. Bonus points for cell phone belt clips, golf clubs, lawn chairs, grilling aprons, and an excessive number of keys hanging from your belt.
🍗 👟 🕶️
The aid station should feel like runners just wandered into a dad’s backyard. Think lawn chairs, coolers, golf bags, classic rock, dad jokes, and plenty of enthusiastic encouragement. Greet runners with peak dad energy, offer them “Dad Fuel,” ask if they’ve been staying hydrated, and remind them that “we’re making good time.” The goal is simple: create the most welcoming, ridiculous, and memorable suburban backyard experience possible for every runner who passes through.

We loved seeing everyone at Gathers this past weekend! More highlights to come from our softball game! We’ll see ya tomorrow evening at the Jensen’s home for Friday LifeGroup and at the Schneider’s home for Saturday morning LifeGroup. 🌞

Our Gathers at Stover Park is this coming Saturday starting at 1pm with a potluck picnic following a softball game starting at 2pm! Softball was so popular a few weeks ago that we wanted to do another outing! Bring your favorite food dish or dessert to share along with blanket/chairs. Invite your friends and family as we fellowship together as a community and celebrate the many incredible things that God is doing in our lives. 🥎
