HISTORY OF COBA
Chartered in 1972, the Central Oregon Builders Association (COBA) is a 501(C6) not-for-profit founded to help benefit its 600 member companies in Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Gilliam, Harney, Hood River, Jefferson, Malheur, Sherman, Wasco & Wheeler Counties. Today, builders, subcontractors, suppliers and other related businesses from throughout Central Oregon make up the Association’s diverse membership, and join forces to represent a wide range of industry interests. The Central Oregon Builders Association is an Independent Builder Association that supports the Oregon Home Builders association. One of the most respected trade groups in the state, COBA offers its members a wide variety of programs and services. COBA MISSION STATEMENT
To represent the building industry before government and the community, to promote high ethical standards within the building industry, to provide service to its membership and to defend the opportunities of home ownership for all.

Thank you to our friends at Bend Chamber for hosting yesterday’s Fair! 👍
Representatives from the City of Bend, local builders, architects, and housing advocates had a great discussion of Bend’s new pre-approved plans, how far we’ve come on ADU code, and the next steps to bolster ADU production.
Local businesses often point to high housing costs as a major challenge in recruiting and retaining employees. ADU’s are a great way to increase workforce housing supply, inter-generational housing options, and provide homeowners economic opportunity.

COBA was glad to join Bend-La Pine Schools and Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity as they broke ground on affordable homes for school staff. The people who serve our community every day deserve the opportunity to live here, too. 🙌
