Oregon Voyager Magazine is known for highlighting local businesses and the people behind them. I was incredibly honored to be featured and to share a more personal, behind-the-scenes look at the journey behind Iron Roots Design.

Building this business has been one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much has changed, how much I’ve learned, and how many incredible people have been part of our path.

Nestled in Sunriver, Oregon, The Goldfinch House is our latest vacation rental project.

Inspired by the home’s unmistakable late 70’s nostalgia, we’re crafting a retreat that’s memorable from the moment guests arrive.

Through furnishings, lighting, and layered materials, we’re building on the home’s original architecture and embracing existing elements like geometric wood light fixtures, flagstone accents, and cedar paneling.

With furniture installation just around the corner, we’re sharing a few details before the final pieces come together.

This project was completed in the historic district downtown Bend, Oregon for a lovely couple who wanted to maintain the character of their early 1900's home while adding modern conveniences.

When you can see the potential 🙌🏼 Our Tumalo Schoolhouse.
Current Look. During the process. Where we started.

We just met with a prospective client who knows their current house layout isn’t working for their growing family but they’re struggling to see how an addition could be planned to encompass all the functionality they desire. It’s projects like this that I love! It’s the puzzle. It’s taking in all that our clients confide in us and turning it into a livable space.

As for the Schoolhouse, we’re currently working on a couple of refreshes including bedrooms and the dining nook. Stay tuned!
