It all started with a fly fishing guide in Bend who knew there had to be a better way.

A better way to manage trips, coordinate guide schedules, keep track of boats and gear, and spend less time behind a desk and more time on the water.

So that guide took action and founded Flybook - building a solution to the problems they faced in the outfitter world.

More than 20 years later, we’re still solving those same challenges, just for a much bigger community. From fly fishing guides to rafting companies, bike shops, wildlife tours, outfitters, lodging, and beyond, we’re proud to support the businesses that help people experience the outdoors.

We never forget where we started, and we’re incredibly grateful to call this community ours. 🎣

There's something special about road trips.

You spend long days on the road, meet incredible people, and collect stories you never could have planned.

A few years ago, while traveling to visit Flybook customers across the country, with a furry friend, Mallow, in tow, she had just been caught doing something she wasn't supposed to... but obviously still looked adorable enough to deserve a photo.

The second the camera came out? She disappeared right back into the van. 😅🐶

For everyone who works in the outdoor industry, you know the best adventures aren't just about the destinations; they're about the people (and pets) who make the journey memorable.

🐾 Who's the four-legged member of your team? We'd love to hear their story or see a photo in the comments.

Adventure isn’t something we make time for; it’s the way we choose to live.

Loading helmets, buckling kids into bike seats, packing a few snacks, and heading out with no agenda beyond spending time outside. Those moments are a reminder of why we love this industry so much.

At Flybook, we don’t just build software for adventure businesses; we’re people who genuinely love getting outside ourselves. We spend our weekends on rivers, trails, mountains, beaches, and backroads. We understand the value of creating experiences that become lifelong memories because we’re out making those memories too.

That’s why Flybook is always along for the ride. Every feature we build and every conversation we have with our customers is shaped by a team that believes adventure isn’t just something you sell...it’s something you live.

Here’s to more miles, more memories, and helping adventure businesses create unforgettable experiences for the people they serve. 🚲🌲

Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to welcome back a familiar face than earn the trust of someone visiting for the first time?

That's why repeat guests are one of the most valuable assets an adventure business can have.

They're more likely to:
✔️ Book another trip
✔️ Bring friends and family
✔️ Leave positive reviews
✔️ Recommend your business to others
✔️ Become long-term supporters of your brand

While attracting new guests will always matter, lasting growth often comes from building relationships with the people who have already experienced what makes your business special.

In our latest blog, we're sharing simple ways to turn one-time visitors into lifelong fans, and why investing in your past guests can be one of the smartest marketing decisions you make.

**Question for operators:** What's one thing your business does to encourage guests to come back year after year?

How To Use Technology to Make Great Hospitality Repeatable: a session on delivering consistent guest experiences with Jess Ary from Flybook, Wednesday July 22 at 11am ET on LinkedIn Live.

Most operators who are good at hospitality are not actually systemized. They have one or two great people and a lot of informal knowledge. Jess walks through how to identify where your experience depends on a person rather than a process, and what to do about it.

Jess Ary is Product Manager & Designer at Flybook, a booking and operations platform built specifically for tour and activity operators.

You can learn a lot about someone by where they choose to spend their days off.

For the summer solstice, Flybook's Product Manager and Designer, Jess Ary, chose to hike to the summit of Wheeler Peak, the highest mountain in New Mexico.

For Jess, time outside isn't separate from work. It's part of what inspires it.

At Flybook, product decisions don't begin with assumptions. They begin with people who genuinely care about this industry.

Jess's years as a guide and the adventures she still seeks out today shape the questions she asks, the details she notices, and the experiences she designs. Those instincts are refined through conversations with operators, on-site visits, and ongoing industry research.

That's how Flybook evolves: passion first, listening second, and thoughtful product design every step after.

Because when the people building your software are just as passionate about the outdoors as the people using it, every update starts with a deeper understanding of what matters most.

A few weekends ago, Flybooker Quinton Legare spent the day doing what he loves most: getting outside. He floated the river with friends and soaked up everything that makes life outdoors so special.

For Quinton, that love for the outdoors doesn't stop when the weekend ends. It's part of who he is.

Beyond supporting outfitters and tour operators through his work at Flybook, Quinton founded The Outdoor Kinship Co., whose mission is to connect people of color to nature, adventure, wellness, and community through intentional outdoor experiences.

That's something we love about the people on our team. They don't just work in the outdoor recreation industry; they live it. They're out exploring, building community, and sharing the experiences that first inspired them to join this industry.

We're grateful to work alongside people whose passion extends far beyond the office and into the lives they help shape every day.

A river has a way of slowing everything down.

No meetings. No notifications. No agenda beyond floating downstream, casting a few lines, and enjoying the company around you.

This trip brought together current Flybookers, former Flybookers, and friends for a couple of days on Oregon's McKenzie River. While jobs change and seasons come and go, the friendships built through a shared passion for the outdoors have a way of sticking around.

It's a good reminder that the outdoor rec. industry is about more than the work we do. It's about the people we meet, the communities we build, and the adventures that continue long after the workday ends.

Here's to more days on the water with good friends.
