Horses were an integral part of the operation including camp horses, pack strings, and draft horses to pull camps and feed livestock in heavy winters 🐴🐎
Naturally, they are a major part of his art. Grant believes these animals have their own personalities and characteristics which should come out in each painting; he uses no formulas.

Over the years Danielle has built up a diverse collection of historic memorabilia🏺
She tells a story about her great-grandmother who taught school on the San Carlos Apache reservation in southern Arizona: “As a token of their affection, the Indians gave my great-grandmother a number of wonderful things, including baskets and pottery. She left them to my grandmother who just stored them in her attic. My grandmother eventually showed them to me, and they took my breath away. It was as if those things had been waiting just for me. That bit of history gives me a special connection to the objects I use in my work.”

Cashwell honed a distinctive style that blends impressionism with a modern style - his process is intuitive, raw and ever evolving. 📿
“I couldn’t tell you exactly how my paintings come to life - it’s a mystery even to me,”, he says. “I might begin with an image or a loose idea for the composition, but after that, instinct takes over. I make hundreds of changes. At some point, I usually throw up my hands and say, ‘I don’t know what to do!’ I consider destroying the painting. I cover sections with gesso scrape it back, sand it down - who knows what else. But somewhere in that chaos, something shifts. Color harmonies emerge, lines find their way, textures begin to develop. It’s not a process I can explain. It’s the only way I know. That mystery is what makes painting so compelling to me.”

🏹 In his search to conjure up on canvas the American West during the 1850’s to the turn of the century, John DeMott does more than work from models…
🦬 He stands in the path of stampeding buffalo, participates in 1880-style shoot-outs and spends time on Civil War battlefields. His style, which he calls, “historical realism,” combines Impressionism and realism, and includes wildlife, northern plains figures and other various frontier characters. 🏕️

Eric has just one creative focus: 𝓛𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽
The artist’s images have the feel of weathered photographs brought back into sharp focus, with faces and scenes that hold a familiarity both comforting and haunting.
After studying American and European masters to develop his technical knowledge of several mediums, he features a majority of these works in the centuries old process of Egg Tempera. Few truly master this technique due to its difficulty and nuance.
