One of the most rewarding parts of teaching the 3-Day Framework Foundations course is seeing how quickly ⚡ clinicians begin integrating the concepts into their own practice.
This Clinical Application Case blog series shares case reports submitted by clinicians who completed the course and applied one simple new intervention with their clients the very next week.
👉 CASE: C6 SCI (46 years post) with long history of shoulder injuries, ligament tears that make transfers and ADLs painful and challenging.
👀 Check out the link in bio for how Alex from Karve Collective implemented a simple exercise learned that the course that made a big difference in his client's pain and function.
✨These examples highlight not only the clinicians’ growing confidence and clinical reasoning, but also how approachable and immediately applicable the system can be with small shifts in observation, cueing, and exercise selection.

PART 2: Triggers for neuropathic pains [clinical observation & self-reported]
👀 Check out Part 1 in my grid...
On a recent story, I shared how my clients often have increased neuropathic pain when we flood their body with sensory and movement inputs - specifically high repetition, open-chain "Connection" exercises.
It's a pattern I see over and over again, and so before implementing these techniques, I let my clients know that they may experience increased neuropathic pain due to the flooding of sensory to their nerves.
Several of you chimed in with similar experiences, adding anecdotal validation to this reasoning.

Quick moment for a [re-]introduction post for all the new and familiar friends around here.
I'm Steph 👋 your go-to person for looking for simple but effective SCI recovery programs. I have created a floor-based movement system that combines Pilates and other holistic movement approaches to simplify the healing process for individuals with SCI and neuro rehab pros.
Career cliff notes:
🔹I graduated UC Davis in 2011 with a B.S. in Exercise Biology + spent 2 years working in the athletic rehab department as a student Athletic Trainer - this is where I fell in love with rehab sciences.
🔹I started working in neuro rehab right after college in 2011 at an ABT clinic in California, and moved over to a pilates-based program at a boutique pilates studio in 2014.
🔹I completed my Pilates teacher training and earned my National Pilates Teacher Certification (NCPT) in 2016.
🔹I founded Zebrafish Neuro with one of my dedicated clients, Theo St. Francis (C6 incomplete SCI athlete) in 2017 and we self-published our book, From the Ground Up in 2020 after 3 long years of research & development!
🔹COVID pushed me to start my own coaching business in 2020, splitting my time between remote and in-person coaching.
🔹I push my professional development in movement studies by seeking out continuing education that is OUTSIDE the realm of neuro rehab - things like osteopathic medicine, dance studies and fascial research.
🔹One of my favorite things about ZN is that I get to meet so many different people! And mentor up-coming neuro specialists, giving them the support and resources they need to make this is a sustainable career.
