Run Streak Day 543

The Dizzy Goat 12 hour race put on by G.O.A.T.z 6/27/2026

Had a hell of a day out there. Started off the day off with playing some cat and mouse with Cole Shotkoski until we decided to run the same pace for a bit, both of us having some stomach issues hit by the time we started running together. Eventually I couldn’t get any gel, food or drink but water down leading to my lap time doubling and me lingering at the start/finish aid station area. Justin Hazard was trying to help while running the race himself, offering up anything he had brought with him to me. That’s when Kylie Hawkins came in and got my nutrition back on track, found some things I could eat got me back out there while she called up Archie Powders to come and pace me. When Archie got there I told him based on how my last few laps went my goal of 50 miles was out of the question as we’d have to basically cut my current lap time in half for the rest of the race. Archie was the man for the job and told me we’re hitting 50 miles easily and had the exact mentality and energy you need in a pacer. The kid brought me back to life and we hit the goal by getting 51 official miles with about 20 minutes to spare. Shaved over 4 hours off my previous 50 mile time and ended up finishing in the top 10.

This was my first attempt running an ultra in the summer and I learned a lot.

Big thanks to all of the GOATz peeps, volunteers and Chris for snapping some great race pics!

Run Streak Day 533!

Got out with the .have.our.respect crew and did some trimming and then finished the night with a trail run lit by the moon and lightning bugs! One of the coolest runs I’ve ever been on.

A run with the dogs for day 532 of the run streak
