Laura Inserra
Sound alchemist — multi instrumentalist, music therapist, teacher, composer, artistic director, and producer. Sound is a vibration.
She lives and creates at the confluence of music from around the globe, wisdom practices, and cutting edge technologies. I'm inspired by the concept that all the religious and gnostic believes have in common that Life started with 'sound'. A vibration creates movement, and through movement everything manifests, transform, and evolve. This is the most simple, ancient, and profound principle in Nature. My work reflects that view and creates a deep connection with the specific 'momentum' we live in. Because of that, while you are reading about my lifework, I have evolved already to another state of consciousness. May you find here a resonance or an inspiration for your precious life and may our path cross in time and space so that we can benefit even more of the gifts we have to share. Laura Inserra is a multi-instrumentalist, sound therapist, composer, teacher, and event producer from Sicily. She is specialized in the transformative and healing power of sound, resonant frequencies, sympathetic resonance, and binaural beats.
Thanks to her musical and spiritual studies with teachers from ancient and modern schools of wisdom, she has developed a unique form of healing practice called 'Harmonizing Therapy'. Using sacred sounds, rhythms, and melodies, she creates Inner Landscapes Journeys to facilitate and nurture personal transformation and self awareness. She applies this method in one on one sessions, as well as group settings, concerts, workshops, and company retreats. Laura’s music displays a rich palette of global sounds using ancient and modern instruments which she infuses with a unique blend of harmonies and melody lines on top of intricate rhythmic expressions. She performs in a variety of public, private, and site-specific events including retreats sacred ceremonies. She composes soundtracks and sound design for dance, theater, art installations, and movies. Since the age of 21, she has been teaching music to students of all ages and levels in private and group sessions. In particular, since 2003, she is worldwide the most recognized teacher of the Hang. Something extraordinary is coming to Cleveland.
QUALIA — recipient of the 2026 Dome Fest West Juror’s Choice Award and Audience Choice Award — is making its Cleveland premiere on July 24th at the Great Lakes Science Center Dome Theater.
QUALIA is a guided journey of music and encompassing visuals created to awaken your senses, deepen your connection with the natural world, and inspire inner transformation.
Projected across every inch of the Science Center’s 60-foot dome, QUALIA immerses you in visuals that stretch the limits of perception — from cascading neural landscapes to vast cosmic canvases — paired with a spatial audio score that fills the room from all directions.
QUALIA asks you to be present — the boundary between viewer and experience begins to dissolve. Equal parts science and art, the film weaves together neuroscience, philosophy of mind, and pure visual poetry. It’s the rare kind of experience that leaves you seeing the world a little differently when you walk back out into the light.
Whether you're a curious first-timer to the dome or a seasoned planetarium visitor, QUALIA will find you somewhere you haven't been before.
Each screening is followed by a live post-show Q&A with creator Laura Inserra, providing audiences with insight into the creative process, scientific inspiration, and artistic intentions behind the work. QUALIA is not a traditional film or lecture, but an open-ended, experiential journey designed to engage audiences of all ages.

This week I sat under the lights of the Science Show Stage at IPS 2026 in Fukuoka, microphone in hand, surrounded by the very people who spend their lives designing the dome.
The panel was called "The Dome as a Portal." I shared the stage with Ian Downie, Dr. John Keller, and Dr. Cherilynn Morrow, and together we explored how the dome itself can be an instrument for awe, wellness, and human flourishing.
Thank you to everyone who gathered with us, near and far.
With infinite love and light,
Laura

There is a particular kind of awe that happens when people who build portals gather in one room. This week, that room is in Fukuoka, Japan - and Chambers of Awe has been invited inside it.
We are bringing QUALIA to the International Planetarium Society's 2026 conference, where the world's dome-makers, scientists, and immersive artists gather around something we have known for years: the dome is a portal.
On Tuesday, June 23rd at 2:00pm JST, I'll lead a panel called "The Dome as a Portal" alongside Ian Downie, Dr. John Keller and Dr. Cherilynn Morrow, exploring where sound, science, and immersive design converge.
Then on Thursday, June 25th at 10:00am JST, QUALIA will screen in full as a 360-degree journey through the Five Elements, followed by a workshop.
I receive this invitation with deep gratitude. It is a sacred thing to watch a piece of our work travel this far and be met with this much curiosity.
Thank you for being part of the journey that made this possible.
With infinite love and light,
Laura

70% of QUALIA's score was composed for Johns Hopkins consciousness studies. Ceremonial instruments. Full-dome visuals. A shared journey designed for healing, connection, and transformation.
This is experiential medicine.
