Just prior to Father's Day, I received communication from the Zulu branch on the Peters Tree. Anele Mzoneli (Martin's son) just graduated with a law degree from the University of Pretoria. Congrats! Zithulele "Chris" seems to be doing satisfactorily, though feeling the aging we all feel these days. Shout out to Chris! Part of the family in Zulu regalia.

The Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence: Why It Matters for Science and Theology? 06/18/2026

I keep asking: why don't space scientists invite UFO enthusiasts to their BBQs? This question came up this spring when CTNS held a GTU seminar on "The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence: Why it Matters for Science and Theology." Astronomer Grace Wolf-Chase and I debated this matter. Here's free access to my write-up in Theology and Science. Just click.

Which is cheaper, to simply write a check and buy Greenland or conquer Denmark with "shock 'n' awe"? Washington's power lust wants to watch "shock 'n' awe" like kids want to watch Fourth of July fireworks.

How can AI make us truly human? 01/05/2026

I'm glad that Uriah Kim, our GTU president, is pathfinding our AI future. He brings Martin Buber and Paul Ricoeur into this conversation. Nice. This is a think piece.
