It’s been… a couple years (?) since our last Sample Sale and we are itching to get you some great deals.
If you’ve never participated in a Sample Sale before, here is a very thorough write up of how it works (READ IT ALL! Or get an experienced friend to explain 😉)
The way it works is this… on Sample Sale day we will be posting groups of available collars on social media. Full description of each collar will be in the caption, including size, price, specs, any flaws etc. be sure to read descriptions carefully to make sure the collar will fit your dog.
If you see a collar you want, you need to be the first to CALL US! (510) 848-7226
You have to keep calling until you to talk to a human.
Texting, messaging, DMing etc will not work.
If you reach voicemail, it means we’re on the phone with someone else so hang up and dial again (and again and again!) until you get through to a real live person (DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE).
Once a collar has been claimed, we will update comments/post to indicate it’s been SOLD.
When all collars in a group have been sold, we will delete the post. So if you are able to see a post with collars, at least one is still available.
Stone changes will be available! So the collar you want is the correct size, design, leather and hardware color but the stones aren’t calling to you, you can pay a little extra and we can swap out to stones to whatever color you want.
Historically, Sample Sales have been strictly a FB thing, but we’re gonna try something bonkers and have it cross posted on our IG page, FB page, and stories. Your strategy can be to keep refreshing your feed when we post new groups, but on IG you can also go to our profile page and hit the little bell icon to get alerts and be the first to see when we post a new group.
Save our number in your phone and get your dialing fingers ready!

Remember when AI used to mean something entirely different? (I’m talking to all you animals nerds 😆).
AI might not be coming for our jobs here at Paco, but it’s still affecting us in a way that we didn’t anticipate. Here’s an example of what we experienced this week.

We take Custom Orders the 13th of every month. On that day, all the custom designs on the website are available to order.

✨MEET THE TEAM✨
A good craftsperson is like a good magician in that suddenly there’s this fully formed, beautiful object in front of you, but it didn’t come out of thin air. There’s actually a lot of work that goes on behind it.
Your Paco Collar has been touched by most (if not all) the people on our team so let’s take a minute to give thanks to all the hard work.
1. Rath is our head schmoozer, tour coordinator, shipper, and bedazzler. If you come out to an event, you’re bound to see her smiling face. Having run her own dog walking business in SF for a decade, she’s put those skills to work here and the company is growing and evolving because of that savvy.
2. Jen has worn almost every hat in the company, having been with Paco for almost a decade. Currently Jen is holding down the first steps of production: cutting leather from the hides, beveling, dying, and buckling nearly every blank that lives on to become a collar.
3. Lauren joined the business when we moved to Tennessee two years ago and has applied their carpentry skills to leatherworking, making precise measurements and putting a craftsperson’s eye to all the designs. See the precise stud work on a collar? That’s Lauren!
4. Layne is the newest member of our team and, while she tackles a variety of duties around the shop, has a natural talent for creating color ways and gemming. It’s fitting because she’s also such a gem. She’ll also be helping vend this fall so be sure to say hi!
5. Cedar is our customer service genius and is probably one of the nicest, most empathetic people you’ll ever meet (which makes them perfect for the role). So remember, even if you’re having an issue and are upset, this is who you’re talking to (not an AI bot!) and they want to help you fix your problem, so be gentle 😉
6. Ana Poe is the founder of Paco (which started nearly 25 years ago!). This is the face you’ll see most often online but is far from being the most vital part of the company. In addition making collars, Ana runs the social media, vends at shows, and thinks deeply about what collars would look best on what dogs.
We also have a great community of friends and helpers that are on call to help us during the busy season, or when we need to vend multiple shows the same weekend.
Everyone who has ever been on the Paco team over these past 24 years has helped the company grow and added their own spin on the products or way we do business. We’ve been so lucky to have such quality people, consistently, over the years. Literally could not have done it without them.

Don’t make these mistakes!
Having a dark/all black dog can seem like a styling challenge but if you follow these simple guidelines then it’s easy.
The right collar that will make people on the street stop you and say, “wow, what a beautiful dog!” first, and *then* “ooh, and that collar is great, too.” Not the other way around 😉
