The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol

I’ll be offering a School of The Getdown One-Day Vocal Intensive for adults this Saturday September 26, 12-4pm in Oakland. My classes are always open to students of all levels and backgrounds. We join together in love and community to explore the gift of song. The workshop includes vocal exercises, group songs, improv, and opportunity to be coached on two solo pieces of your choice. All styles are welcome! Live accompaniment is provided by Joe Warner. I like to keep my classes small so each student can get individual attention so space is very limited. Contact me to join or for more info.

It was such a pleasure to collaborate with my good friend of almost 40 years, Gerald Lenoir, on the song “Bad, Bad, News” for my new album ‘Faye Sings The Blues.’ Gerald came to me with the lyrics to this song and Joe Warner and I put it to music and built the arrangement. The result was this original blues number and one of my favorite songs on the project. Big ups to lyricist Gerald Lenoir! Go check out “Bad, Bad, News” on ‘Faye Sings The Blues,’ now streaming on all platforms.

Come check us out this Saturday 8pm at The Jazzschool. I love these guys! We have a great show prepared for you.

Joe Warner - piano
Ron Belcher - bass
Dante Roberson - drums

Big thanks to all the amazing artists: my band and string quartet, Tuck & Patti, Paula West, and incredible rappers Rico Pabon, Professor Kee, Ian Kelly, and Tia Nomore.
