It's officially October and that means it's time to start planning for our annual Literary Pumpkin Contest. Create a pumpkin with a literary connection whether a character, book cover, scene or author; get creative!

Entries can be dropped off from Wednesday, October 21 through Friday, October 23 with everyone invited to drop by and vote for their favorite on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25.

We already knew our Reference team is fantastic, but it's always nice when their hard work is recognized. We were just awarded a certificate from UMass Lowell in recognition of our Digital Literacy classes.

There are 44 new bestsellers, three new movies, ten new audiobooks, one new music CD, 39 new children's books, and 113 other new books, including 43 that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week include "Threshing Day," "Protocols: An Operating Manual for the Human Body," and "The French Illusion." The new movies this week are "Pan's Labyrinth," "Chasing Amy - Criterion Collection," and "Election."
