READ THE STORY!!! Multiple Injuries Reported in Highway 176 Crash; Roadway Reopened
HOWARD COUNTY — The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate a multi-vehicle crash that shut down Highway 176 in Howard County Wednesday.
DPS Sgt. Steve Blanco told KBEST Media the crash involved commercial motor vehicles and did result in injuries, but no fatalities. The number and severity of those injuries have not been released. That updates an initial report Wednesday indicating there were no injuries. Our news partner First Alert 7 also subsequently reported multiple injuries and no fatalities.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 176 were closed for a period of time while troopers investigated and crews removed the commercial vehicles from the roadway.
Blanco said the highway was reopened later Wednesday evening and is now clear.
DPS has not yet released additional information about the exact location of the crash, the number of vehicles involved or what led to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.

READ ABOUT IT!! Big Spring High School Bonfire Set for Thursday Night
BIG SPRING — Big Spring High School will continue its Homecoming Week festivities Thursday night with a traditional bonfire and senior whitewash event.
The Big Spring Bonfire is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, north of the old compost facility at the Air Field.
The event is part of the buildup to Friday night's Homecoming football game, when the Big Spring Steers host San Angelo Lake View at Memorial Stadium.
Following the bonfire, Big Spring High School seniors will take part in the annual Senior Whitewash at 10 p.m. The whitewash event is limited to seniors.
Friday's Homecoming game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
🚒✈️ NEW FIRETRUCK ARRIVES AT McMAHON-WRINKLE AIRPORT
A new Striker Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) truck has arrived at Big Spring Fire Station No. 1 at McMahon-Wrinkle Airport.
Unlike a traditional fire engine, a Striker is designed specifically for aircraft emergencies and airport firefighting. These specialized trucks are built to move quickly across airport terrain while carrying large amounts of water and firefighting foam. They can begin attacking an aircraft fire within seconds of arriving on scene, helping protect passengers, flight crews and first responders.
The new truck adds another important piece of emergency-response equipment at McMahon-Wrinkle Airport as aviation activity continues to grow in Big Spring. A full new story to come in the next few hours.
