Honoring the Legacy of Master Sergeant Coater B. DeBose

We were honored to welcome Mrs. Juanita DeBose, wife of the late MSG Coater B. DeBose, along with their sons Broderick and LaTravis, as they visited his display in our Veterans’ Room.

MSG DeBose served our nation for nearly 30 years and was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 19, 2012.

Mrs. DeBose graciously donated his combat boots from his final deployment and his Purple Heart certificate to be permanently displayed in our Veterans’ Room.

These treasured items represent more than military service—they tell the story of a husband, father, mentor, and soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We are grateful to the DeBose family for entrusting us with this piece of his legacy.

Most airlines allow cremated remains on board as carry-on or checked baggage, but the container holding the remains must pass through the x-ray machine or it will not be allowed through security. Cremated remains can also be air-shipped as cargo but only by "known shippers." In addition, to transport remains on an airplane you must provide a death or cremation certificate for the cremated remains in order to carry them on board.
