π What Happened This Week at the Nook? πβ¨
It was another exciting week at Inglenook Library!
πΎ We welcomed a special visitor from Hand in Paw, bringing smiles, wagging tails, and plenty of joy to everyone who attended.
πͺ¨ Our young creators put their engineering skills to the test during our Gravity Glue STEAM Activity, where they used the force of gravity to balance and hold irregularly shaped rocks in place. What an amazing way to explore science, creativity, and problem-solving!
π±πͺ΄ The Gardening Nook continues to flourish! πͺ΄π±
We harvested our very first tomato! π
π Our garden is thriving, with beautiful flowers in bloom and more fruits and vegetables beginning to grow.
A huge shout-out to Saylors Village and the incredible Inglenook Library staff for their dedication and hard work in keeping our garden healthy and growing. Your support is helping cultivate learning, curiosity, and community one plant at a time.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this week. We can't wait to see you at the Nook for more fun, learning, and adventure! π

πͺ¨βοΈ History Came Alive at the Nook! βοΈπͺ¨
Yesterday, Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the Inglenook Branch had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Ty, a historian from Sloss Furnace, for an engaging and educational presentation.
Mr. Ty brought fascinating artifacts from the 1800s coal mining era, giving participants a hands-on opportunity to explore Birmingham's rich industrial history. From historical tools to stories about the lives of miners, attendees gained a deeper appreciation for the people and events that helped shape our city.
Thank you, Mr. Ty and Sloss Furnace, for sharing this incredible piece of Birmingham's history with our community!
