The Birmingham Rugby Football Club was established in 1967, and is the premier Rugby Club in Alabama. Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 pm.
Bring some cleats and we will see you there. Youth and High School schedules vary, so check website. Anyone with an interest in rugby may join the Birmingham Rugby Club. No experience is necessary, just the willingness to have fun and to push yourself. This team was started in 1967 by the Krebs brothers, Goodwyn Sr, and others. The club was introduced to the city during a rugby demo that they put on at the halftime of the NY Jets exhibition game at Legion Field that helped recruit the first Birmingham Rugby members. Apparently the crowd, and some of the football players, were more impressed with the Rugby. The crowd cheered for more Rugby and did not want the football to start up again.

Our men of the match…and Harry.
Forward of the Match: Mitch Shea
Multiple tries, manly carries. 80 min is a dedicated ho**er.
Back of the Match: Tyler Taunton
Stalwart running and just about perfect kicking ex*****on, try scored on a beautiful tap and go, doing what a captain does.
Soccer Boy: Harrison Turner
Made a Soccer Boy appearance in 7s, so we guess he wanted to cement his status in 15s. Lost a try by doing his best “pencil” impression, raising the ball above his head, only for it to be knocked away. We love him, but we also want to choke him sometimes.

Saturday was a rugby day indeed. 65-7 good guys.
Thank you to everyone that travelled from Battleship Rugby, Montgomery Yellowhammers Rugby Football Club, and Wiregrass Rugby Club. Class acts and great rugby.

Our Man of the Tournament for the Elvis 7s Tournament is: Jayden Cosby
He brought the goods all the way from Florence and University of North Alabama Rugby with 4 tries, 2 try assists, and about a hundred broken tackles. He loves rugby, long walks on the beach, and making brioche French toast. Here’s to Jayden!
