With a little help from Dakinitri by Lore Rojas bloom 🫀 hanging in there! Yesterday at the Jamboree

From our last show, where I hit my sword. The plan B was always: let it drop, recover, keep the poker face. Instead my hand was already on the blade, bare palm, before I’d thought anything. (just a little bloody scratch 🥲, do not recommend) Pure reflex, choosing the dancers next to me. I just couldn’t bear disturbing their concentration or hitting them with my sword. 🥺 Not sure I could save it like that again on purpose 😅 On another note, dance keeps doing quiet work for me these days, somewhere around the void in my soul that my 🫀 dog Coco left behind. My dance family lets dance be dance, and at the same time, we accompany each other through this dancing side of life with compassion, empathy, and much love for this human experience. Grateful for all! 🙏🏼

As a practitioner of art seeking a truthful life, here an honest parenthesis of true life going through me at the moment.

I am missing my soul dog painfully so much, he left his physical body two months ago at almost 15 years old, Coco has been my world since he was 2 months old.

I have been in a bare minimum mode since then and I never felt this broken before, I am trying to dig in the ashes of what I thought my identity was, I am trying to find the ember that can bring the jolly dancer, the positive friend, the happiness overachiever, he was a big part of my identity and purpose … and I just feel the waves of grief hitting me all over again.

I am trying to take one day at the time, not sure how, but I’m sure I am not the only one, not the first and not the last, in the meantime I can only (c)try. I am aware I had been very fortunate so far.
I am grateful for my family, friends and my student dancers who have been patient and being there for me.
