Dr. Toth’s class from UAB recently visited DRR! John shared more about our agency and gave the students a tour. It is always great to connect with students who will one day lead the way in our community!

We had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Rebecca Hines, Commissioner of the Administration on Disabilities in Washington, D.C., during the Alabama Disability Conference. We joined self-advocates and disability leaders from across the state for an important conversation about the future of disability advocacy in Alabama.

John and Lauren had the opportunity to serve as keynote speakers at the Alabama Disability Conference Awards Luncheon! John shared more about the work we do at Disability Rights & Resources, while Lauren shared her powerful personal story.

Josh and Heather had a great time attending the United Ability Assistive Technology Conference and exploring new ways technology can support accessibility and independence for people with disabilities in our community.

DRR Community Development Director LeAnne Knight recently completed United Way of Central Alabama’s Intentionally Centered Management Cohort. The program provided valuable tools to strengthen leadership, teamwork, and service to our community.
