🪙 A Woman Had Ten Coins

In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of a woman who loses one of her ten valuable coins. She doesn't simply shrug her shoulders and move on—she searches until she finds it. And when she does, her joy is so great that she invites others to celebrate with her! 🎉

Jesus uses this story to remind us of an important truth: every person counts in the Kingdom of God. ❤️

That's something we celebrate at Bixby First Methodist each Sunday. Our worship service brings together multiple generations under one roof—children, youth, young adults, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. We may experience life in different ways, but every generation has a place in our church family.

Our calling is to keep reaching, welcoming, and making room for people of every age and stage of life. When someone discovers—or rediscovers—the love and grace of Jesus, we celebrate together! 🙌

🙏 Today, pray about how we can better reach each generation in our community. Ask God to show us how we can help every person know they are seen, valued, loved, and welcome.

🐑 A Shepherd Had 100 Sheep

Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had 100 sheep—but when one wandered away, that one still mattered. ❤️

Throughout His ministry, Jesus intentionally reached out to people who felt lost, overlooked, or far from God. His message reminds us that the Church isn’t called to focus only on those already inside its walls. We are called to look outward, reach out, and share God’s love with others.

Think about someone you haven’t seen at church in a while. Maybe they’ve been busy, going through a difficult season, or simply drifted away.

What if you were the person who noticed?

📱 Send a text.
📞 Make a call.
❤️ Let them know they’re missed.
⛪ Invite them to join you at church.

Sometimes a simple “I’ve been thinking about you” can mean more than we realize.

🙏 Today, ask God to place someone on your heart. Pray for them, reach out with genuine care, and remind them that they are loved and never forgotten.

❤️ They Don’t Count… Or Do They?

In Jesus’ day, tax collectors like Matthew were among the most disliked people in the community. Many saw Matthew as someone who didn’t belong—someone who wasn’t worthy of their time, attention, or compassion.

But Jesus saw him differently.

Jesus saw a person who needed love, grace, forgiveness, and an invitation to follow Him. Instead of avoiding Matthew, Jesus moved toward him and welcomed him.

That challenges us to think about the way we see others. Do we label people by their mistakes and choices, or do we remember that every person is someone Jesus loves? ❤️

There are no people who “don’t count” in the Kingdom of God. May we have eyes to see others as Jesus sees them and hearts willing to extend the same grace we have received.

🙏 Today, pray for those who feel far from God. Ask Jesus to help you see them with compassion and show His love through the way you treat them.

🐑 A Shepherd Had 100 Sheep

Jesus tells us about a shepherd with 100 sheep. When one wandered away, the shepherd didn't simply focus on the 99 who remained—he went looking for the one who was missing.

Why? Because every person matters to God. ❤️

Jesus continually reached beyond the expected circles, spending time with people others overlooked or avoided. His example reminds us that the Church isn't called to look only inward. We're called to look beyond our walls, notice who's missing, and share God's love with our neighbors.

Think about someone you haven't seen at church in a while. Maybe they've drifted away, experienced a difficult season, or simply need to know someone still cares.

📱 Send the text. Make the call. Extend the invitation. Let them know, “We've missed you, and there's still a place for you here.”

🙏 Today, ask God to place someone on your heart. Pray for them and look for an opportunity to reach out with genuine love and care.

👣 Come and See

Sometimes sharing Jesus begins with something as simple as an invitation. ❤️

In John 1, Jesus invited His first disciples to “come and see.” After spending time with Jesus, Andrew went and brought his brother Simon to meet Him. Later, when Philip met Jesus, he immediately went to Nathanael. Even when Nathanael had doubts, Philip didn’t argue—he simply invited him to come and see for himself.

We can do the same today. There are people all around us who may be searching for hope, community, or a church home. Your invitation could be the first step that helps someone encounter the love of Jesus.

Think about your friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family members. Who could you invite to church this week? ⛪

🙏 Pray for those you know who don’t have a church home, and ask the Holy Spirit to give you an opportunity—and the courage—to simply say, “Come with me.”

🍎🐢 Apple Adventures in the Turtle Class! 🐢🍎

Our Turtle friends had an apple-solutely amazing week! ❤️ We explored the life cycle of an apple while learning about the color red, the letter Ee, and the shape circle.

📚 After reading 10 Apples Up on Top!, our friends practiced their fine-motor skills with a fun apple craft—cutting, gluing, and stacking their apples! ✂️🍎

We ended our week with some delicious apple-themed treats, including caramel apples, apple butter toast, and apple water! 😋

During Chapel, we learned about The Good Shepherd and how much Jesus loves and cares for us. 🐑❤️

Next week, we're heading into the wonderful world of woodland animals! 🦊🦉🐿️ We can't wait for another week of learning, exploring, and having fun together!
