the season is beginning to dream of something else.
you can feel it in the light.
it lingers differently now - falling slowly across the fields, catching in the tall grass, stretching itself across the mountains as if it, too, is reluctant to leave.
for now, the days remain soft around the edges.
there are still long roads to disappear down. wild places to wander into. dresses waiting to be carried through the grass. the warm earth beneath bare feet. the hum of afternoon. the beautiful, delicious illusion that there is nowhere else we are supposed to be.
and yet -
something is shifting.
somewhere beneath all of this golden stillness, the world is quietly becoming something new.
perhaps that is what makes this moment so tender.
we are standing between what has been and what is coming.
still held by summer.
already being called toward autumn.
and so the deerbird woman does what she has always done when life begins to change.
she goes outside.
she follows the road.
she lets the wind find her.
she wears something beautiful.
she does not mourn the turning of the world.
she turns with it…

u have no idea how many times i hear, “yeah it’s cute but where am i wearing it?” it drives me absolute banana pants! do u like it? does it bring u joy?? i’ll tell u where to wear it - EVERYWHERE! ANYWHERE! the occasion is that you’re alive and free to show up for a day in your miraculous life dressed in something that makes YOU happy! don’t overthink it my deers. u deserve to love the way u look every beautifully ordinary or extraordinary day. whether you are seen or not, do it for yourself. even better if you’re not - wear it again tmr!
i know i know i may be the extreme here, i will style a visit to the dentist, but i stand by it. u r energy. an outfit u feel good n elevates your frequency, PERIOD!
life is short. show up for it while u can wearing what u love, and smile confidently at those who get it or don’t as u float on by. ⚡️

whatta week indeed deer friends. my besties n i created some deerbird magic out n the fields that i cannot wait to share. we had a solar eclipse / meteor shower / new moon. i got my first international online order and a 5 star google review (which never happens), and someone walked through my deerbird door each day to make it special, with a word, a hug, or just their sheer presence. locals, friends, people i’ve known and loved for a long time now - man it never gets old seeing familiar faces amongst a sea of strangers. plz never stop dropping by! 🫶🏼
oh! and a man, buying a necklace for his wife said, “well you look like you’re part of the store.”
“indeed i am sir, every single inch of it.” (that never gets old either) …
which came on a saturday when the small shop goddesses were w me - there is magic in a pink beret!
