On Saturday, May 16, the Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association alongside the Fannin County Board of Commissioners, Fannin County Public Works, Fannin County Emergency Management Agency, Fannin County Fires Department, Georgia DNR and GOCO Dumpsters came together for a major cleanup project on Lake Blue Ridge.
Crews filled 12 tons into three 40-foot dumpsters with debris removed from the lake, including condemned docks, floating trash, a half-sunken ski jump and remnants of a burned houseboat. Public Works utilized heavy equipment while firefighters and volunteers worked together to remove debris from the water.
Many thanks to our LBRCA volunteers and board for organizing and accomplishing such a successful cleanup!
