It’s always a happy day when I get to visit Nurturing Your Newborn! I love having the opportunity to share water safety tips with new and seasoned parents. Together we can help end the epidemic of childhood drowning.
Oh my heart!!! Thank goodness for my Meta AI glasses for allowing me to capture this moment. All 4 of these kiddos have had ISR lessons with me. Seeing the big 3 watch their baby sister in awe is one of the sweetest things.
It’s such a blessing to get to know families through the years, it is one of my absolute favorite parts of this “job.”
Not even 3 and able to clear a pool without worry. When competence leads to confidence, a child is much safer in and around the water. All the confidence and comfort in the water wouldn’t save a child from drowning.
Thankfully this little guy has learned how to respect the water and trust himself, so that now the pool can be a blast!

Please help me congratulate these sweet faces for attaining their ISR self-rescue skills.
I’m so looking forward to teaching them more big boy ISR skills in the future!

Morgan Miller Shares Powerful Message to Parents Ahead of Pool Season 8 Years After Drowning Death of 19-Month-Old Daughter Bode and Morgan Miller's daughter Emmy died in a drowning accident at 19 months old in June 2018. To mark eight years since the accident, Morgan shared a powerful message on her Instagram Stories.
How would you know how to enjoy the water with your skilled kiddo if your Instructor doesn’t take the time to show you?
To keep skills fresh when using them at home, I want to set you up for success when swimming with your little. So, that means getting in the pool with me once or twice in our session together. Don’t worry, your hair doesn’t even need to get wet!
As we near the end of another ISR session here in Boca Raton, it is time for clothing lessons.
You may wonder why we do lessons dressed in regular clothing and the answer is simple. Over 80% of the times a child falls into the water- they are NOT dressed for swimming.
While we hope they never have to use their skills while fully dressed again, we know we’ve set them up for success in navigating from regular diapers, summer, and winter clothing.
This is not as easy as when they are in their swimsuits so there can be some emotions but watch how well these little ones adjust to the added drag and weight of the clothing.
I love the behind the scenes my parents send me.
Before I had the opportunity to teach this little pumpkin, things were a bit hairier in the pool. Now instead of jumping right in without skills, if a fall were to happen into the water- we’ve got the skills to be successful and safe.
