We make time to care for our bodies, families, work, and responsibilities, but your mind deserves care, too.

Give yourself permission to rest.
Set boundaries when you need them.
Spend time doing things that bring you peace.
Talk to someone you trust.
Ask for help when things become too heavy.

Taking care of your mental health doesn't mean every day will be easy. It means recognizing when you need to slow down, recharge, or reach out for support.

If you are in the U.S. and need immediate emotional support, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.

You don't have to know what tomorrow will bring. Just give tomorrow a chance.

Our moods and emotions can change, sometimes from one day to the next, or even from one hour to the next. What feels overwhelming right now may not feel the same tomorrow. You don't have to figure everything out today. If you're struggling, reach out for help and support. Talk to someone you trust and let them know what you're going through. You don't have to carry the difficult moments alone.

If you need something simple to help you through a hard moment, try one of these:

Step outside for a few minutes and get some fresh air.
Move your body, take a short walk, stretch, or exercise.
Call or text someone who makes you feel safe and supported.
Slow down and breathe; take a few deep breaths and focus on the present moment.
Do one comforting thing you enjoy: listen to music, take a warm shower, spend time with a pet, read, or make your favorite drink.

These small actions won't solve every problem, and they aren't a replacement for professional support, but sometimes they can help us get through the moment we're in. If today feels too heavy, please don't make a permanent decision based on a moment that can change. Ask for help.

If you are in the United States, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline for 24/7 crisis support.

I hope you know how important you are; stay.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, but this message is one we need to share every day.

You matter to more people than you may realize. Your presence matters. Your story is still being written. Even when today feels unbearably heavy, please give tomorrow a chance to be different.

If you're struggling, tell someone. Reach out to a friend, family member, mental health professional, or someone you trust. You do not have to carry everything by yourself.

And if you're doing okay today, check on someone else. Send the text. Make the call. Ask twice. Listen without judgment. Remind someone that they matter.

I hope you know how important you are to your family, your friends, this world, and to tomorrows you haven't experienced yet.

If you are in the United States and need immediate emotional support, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Trained crisis counselors are available 24/7.

“Say Their Name” is a poem from my book, Grieving You: Poems of Love and Loss. The following is part of the poem.

Their laughter, dreams, and kindest ways
Deserve to echo through our days.
Still loved, still missed, still in the frame,
Their spirit dances in their name.

Grieving You: Poems of Love and Loss is available anywhere books are sold. Link in bio for Amazon.

If you need support, talk to someone you trust, reach out to a mental health professional, or call or text 988 for free, confidential support 24/7.
