While some species leave childcare to the mother, others leave the father in charge of incubating the eggs to teaching survival skills.

Reminder!
We have our Sensational Snakes program this Saturday, June 20, at 10:30am. Anyone can join, kids just need to be 5 years and older! This program is great for kids and adults that want to learn more about snakes, such as how they smell, eat, move and see! You'll also get a chance to meet our two snake ambassadors!

South Florida summer has officially started. When the heat becomes unbearable, you can escape into the cool Daggerwing Nature Center.
The Nature Center is open Wednesday - Friday, 1pm - 4:30pm and Saturday, 10am - 4:30pm. We have AC, live animals, interactive exhibits and more. Come check us out!

Our incredible volunteers are truly the heart of everything we do. Your dedication and passion bring our mission to life, and we are so deeply grateful for the time and energy you share with us at the nature center.

The nature center has limited staff. We have a wonderful and dedicated group of volunteers that contribute a lot ensure we are at our very best. We have volunteers that assist with animal care, take care of our butterfly garden, greet guests and provide valuable information at the front desk, assist in the office and help as docents during our guided boardwalk tours.

Recently we had a party to celebrate our volunteers with a festive Hawaiian luau theme. Seeing everyone come together to relax and connect was a wonderful way to celebrate your hard work. Thank you for everything you do and for being such an essential part of our team!
