At first glance, the Rolex Daytona 126500LN “Panda” looks very similar to the outgoing 116500LN but Rolex changed much more than you might notice during a quick wrist roll.

⚙️ New Calibre 4131
The biggest upgrade is inside. The 126500LN replaced the long-running calibre 4130 with Rolex’s newer 4131 movement, featuring the more efficient Chronergy escapement, Paraflex shock absorbers and an optimized winding system. Power reserve remains approximately 72 hours.

⭕️ Redesigned Cerachrom Bezel
The black ceramic tachymeter bezel now has a thin Oystersteel edging surrounding the Cerachrom insert, giving the new Daytona a sharper, more defined frame. The 116500LN’s ceramic bezel extended visually all the way to the outer edge.

🐼 Updated Panda Dial
Rolex subtly reworked the dial proportions. The hour markers and subdial rings were refined, creating slightly more open space and a cleaner overall appearance. It’s one of those differences that becomes much easier to spot once you put the two generations next to each other.

📐 Refined 40mm Case
It remains officially 40mm, but Rolex redesigned the Oyster case, including the profile, lugs and crown guard area. The new case has more defined surfaces and catches the light differently during a wrist roll.

✨ Upgraded Movement Finishing
The 4131 also receives a more decorative treatment than the 4130, including Rolex Côtes de Genève finishing and a redesigned cut-out oscillating weight. You won’t see it through the solid caseback of this Oystersteel Panda, but it represents a major evolution underneath.
