My good friend Tom created a prayer website which my daughter Hope will manage to give updates on my open heart surgery and during the recovery in the hospital. You can go there to get updates and leave a prayer, Scripture, or word of encouragement. prayforpastortruman.com

Jim and Jennifer Walters came from Kentucky to support, encourage, and help me as I wait for my open heart surgery. They arrived Wednesday and will leave Saturday as my family arrive to be with me for Monday August 3 surgery.
This is a couple that discovered their purpose is to become more like Christ and minister to people in Jesus name. Their joy and passion in retirement is serving the Lord full time. They host two different college and career groups in their home every week with food, fellowship, Bible study, prayer and praise. They have become like the Good Shepherd caring for young sheep. They have led dozen's of singles to Christ. Many are international students who often go back home to become a witness for Christ.
Now Jim is ordained and many asked for Jim to counsel them before marriage and perform their wedding. While they are with me students called and ask for their biblical advice. Today while they drove me to the hospital for my Pre-Op they took the time to take a call from one they led to Christ that needed to make an important life decision. and wanted their advice. I listened as Scripture and wisdom came from them to this young sheep.
I was so encouraged by how they kept on growing in grace since I was their pastor in Boca in the late 90's. God is so good to give us family in Christ that are always there for us.
Jim gave his salvation story with me on Heaven for Sure TV broadcast will over 3 million vievers internationally. Below you can view Jim story.

Five Star Dining. What is the best meal and table that you were invited to.? Psalms 23, tells us our Good Shepherd has "Prepared a table for you." You may be surprised at just what He has prepared.
This is the second of six messages I preached in 2003 on Psalms 23. I keep listening for what God is preparing for me. I hope you will find sweet fellowship with your Shepherd where he is leading you.

Many of my friends are asking have they set a date for your open heart surgery and will you have someone to care for you. Surgery is set for August 3 and my family will be here on a weekly rotations for five weeks. God is good.
I have been listening to my old cassette series I found in my container. This series of six messages on Psalms 23 was preached beginning in June 2003. I am praying and preparing my heart for surgery and this message on the Character of the Shepherd fill me with faith and encouragement today. I hope it does the same for you....

In a couple of hours, I will meet the heart surgeon to get a date for open heart surgery. The tape below really spoke to my heart this morning. I have been listening to my old cassette tapes with many being over thirty years old. I was not sure they were still operable. My ministry assistant has a device in which we have recovered them and are making a Legacy Series.
I hope this tape will convince you that God is not through with you yet. That is my prayer as I face this surgery.

Three ways God makes His Word personal in your time of need.
Another word of confirmation. So often when we cry out to God and He opens His Word to us on Monday, God sometimes confirms His Word through our Pastor on Sunday. What you sensed God was saying to you privately on Monday, your Pastor says the same thing on Sunday and many times from the same passage.
Today my dear pastor Kevin preached powerfully from Psalms 13. I heard God’s comfort and confirmation again as I face the unknown journey through blockage in my arteries. To get the context of why this was so powerful to me personally, please look at my Facebook post of June 24 regarding facing the unknown in the hospital on January 4, 2023. Please see my Facebook post on July 2 for the context of God’s sending confirmation through other Christians.
Consider three ways God makes His Word personal in your time of need:
1. Have a daily time in God’s Word. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and He uses His Word.
2. Do your best to be at Church. God ordained to speak to His Church through the gift of preaching/teaching of your pastor. God puts on our pastor’s heart God’s burden for His Church. Over 50 years ago I was impacted by the little phrase, “And Thomas was not there…” Jesus showed up in His resurrected body and Thomas missed it. You never know when God chooses to show up at church in a powerful and personal way for you.
3. We cannot be an independent Christian. God made the Body of Christ in such a way that we are interdependent upon one another. I Cor. 12:15-18, describes this interdependence. (The hand needs the foot, and the eyes needs the ear …) Often God will also confirm what He is saying to you through another believer who is walking in faith with Jesus. (See my July 2, Facebook post of comfort and confirmation this way.)
Over the years I have heard so many in discouragement say, “God is silent and not speaking to me.” Often, they have not learned the secret of the three points above. God is indeed speaking if we are in a position to hear. May God increase you in your walk of faith.

Is there hope for a man who is a habitual drunkard, adultier, liar, and neglects his family?
I had the joy to preach in Africa Friday online with our partners Pioneer Evangelism and Living Waters Jesus Film teams. There were 923 attended and 124 prayed to receive Christ. Below is the story of one below:
I was so much involved in drunkenness and there was nothing I could think about God and my future.
Also, adultery was another problem I had, I could even leave my wife at home and go to the bar and spend a night with a pr******te.
I could lie and at times I don’t do the responsibilities at my home. It caused me to have no peace in my home and also in my life.
However, when God’s servants presented the film of Jesus, I watched the suffering, crucifixion and the death of Jesus.
Also, the preacher spoke about the origin of sin that prompted Jesus to come. He said, this world was created perfect and God gave Adam a free will, he gave him permission to eat all what was in the garden, except the tree of knowledge of good and evil to test his free will.
Then Adam made a wrong choice to eat that forbidden fruit and he sinned against God. Then, he was corrupted and that affected the seed of Adam that God expected to populate the earth and all of us sinned.
The glory of God departed from him, sin, sickness, and death came and Satan strayed people.
As a result, there was separation with God, but because of God’s love for us, he sent the second Adam that is Jesus, to fix our brokenness because he is our creator.
Then he illustrated with a simple clock he had, that his eyes have not seen the maker of the clock but the clock is the evidence that there is someone who made it. And when it is broken the maker can fix it.
So, in the same way God sent Jesus to fix our brokenness, all the sins we committed, he paid for, in his death on the cross. He also resurrected after three days with great power over death, Satan, sin and sickness.
Therefore, make him the Lord and the savior of your life, he will fix your brokenness. Trust him with your life he will forgive your sins and give you eternal life, he loves you.
I realized my sins, my brokenness in my life and even in my family, because I had no peace with my wife, then I decided to surrender my life to Jesus to fix me. .
After, he made an alter call for those who want to surrender their lives to Jesus to lead them in prayer of repentance, to put up their hands
I also was one of them and he led us. Now I am fixed by God I am saved, and I am happy and I joined the good news group.
Thank you.
