Contact lenses should not be exposed to water, including in the shower.

Tap water can contain microorganisms that may adhere to the lens and become trapped against the surface of the eye, increasing the risk of irritation and potentially serious infection.

For proper lens hygiene and eye health, contacts should always be removed before showering or swimming.
