Hyperbaric Veterinary Medicine
Veterinary hyperbaric oxygen chambers for clinics & hospitals. 14 yrs · 100K+ treatments. www.hvmed.com
Industry originators and leaders since 2011, the success of Hyperbaric Veterinary Medicine (hvm) has paved the way for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to thrive throughout the veterinary world.
Designed for and engineered by veterinarians and hyperbaric professionals in the USA, hvm was the first to realize the glaring need for this technology in veterinary facilities worldwide. With chambers placed across the United States in veterinary clinics, hospitals and top schools of medicine at the University of Florida, Auburn University and LSU, hvm has now expanded overseas to the United Kingdom with a chamber at the revered Fitzpatrick Referrals.
Hvm prides themselves in being "the standard in veterinary hyperbarics," by always choosing practicality over aesthetics when it comes to the safety of animals in its chambers, and being available to its clients for treatment guidance, technical support and staff training in perpetuity from day of installation.
Lola’s HBOT journey Clínica Veterinária- Dra. Thatiana Teixeira Instituto Vinna - Medicina integrativa was a vital part of her recovery!
REPOST:
* Lola in the hyperbaric
chamber: today you understand why this step entered her treatment.
For those who have just arrived, Lola our golden retriever has only been confronted pancreatitis, kidney failure and gastroenteritis
円
During the investigation, exams revealed erliquiosis and babesiosis, the well-known “tick diseases”
With severe anemia, her body began to suffer from the lack of oxygen in the tissues.
It was at this moment that the multidisciplinary team included HBOT in the protocol, here at the Vinna Institute.
Each case is evaluated individually.
For Lola, the goal was to support the organs at a time when several inflammatory processes occur simultaneously.
What that protocol did for her:
More comfort to breathe
Oxygen reaching the organs better
Blood support in the face of anemia
A reinforcement in the general clinical state
“Complex framework is all about adding care, never betting on an answer alone.“

Every one of these is a real patient, in a real HVM chamber. 🎞️
Dogs. Cats. Rabbits. A Bald Eagle. Sea Turtles. Bulldogs and large breeds like Great Danes and Newfoundlands. Post-op recoveries, envenomations, wounds that wouldn’t close, neurologic cases, burns, infections.
Over 100,000 treatments have now been performed worldwide in HVM veterinary hyperbaric chambers—for a myriad of indications, as a primary or adjunct therapy, in practices from the USA to Australia.
One chamber. Hundreds of reasons to use it.

Trauma. Infection. Post-op. Chronic pain. Different diagnoses, one thing underneath all of them: **inflammation.** 🔥
Swelling is how the body answers almost every insult, and early on that’s exactly what you want. The trouble starts when it won’t switch off. Edema squeezes the capillaries, the vessels get pushed further apart, and oxygen from red blood cells can no longer diffuse far enough to reach the cells that need it. The tissue isn’t dead — it’s cut off. Healing stalls right where you need it most.
Hyperbaric oxygen does something to that picture that very little else can.
Under pressure, arterioles and venules constrict — so swelling comes down. At the same time, so much oxygen dissolves directly into plasma that delivery actually *rises* even as the vessels tighten. Less edema and more oxygen, at the same time. Over a course of treatment, pro-inflammatory markers like TNF-α and IL-6 measurably fall.
That’s why the same modality keeps turning up across such different cases — post-op recovery, trauma and crush injuries, envenomation, wounds and grafts, neurologic swelling, infection. It isn’t treating six different problems. It’s treating the one they have in common.

HBOT is an adjunctive therapy used alongside surgical and medical care. Outcomes vary by patient and case.

HBOT is helping Butch CARE Veterinary Cetnter after having a tumor removed.
・・・
REPOST:
Our brave boy Butch had a mast cell tumor removed and was a great candidate for HBOT following his surgery to aid in his healing process. We were lucky enough to see him for his incision check appointment yesterday, and we are happy to report that he is still all smiles and back to running and jumping around. 😊

A sea turtle is swimming free again — and hyperbaric oxygen was part of the story. 🐢
"Young Frankenstein," a critically endangered Kemp's ridley, was stranded on Cape Cod with a hypoxic brain injury. The team at Advanced Veterinary Specialty Center of New England, working with the New England Aquarium, treated him with hyperbaric oxygen therapy — and he was cleared to return to the ocean. Believed to be a medical first for sea turtles.
This is what's possible when a veterinary team has the right tools and the will to try something new. Proud that our chambers are part of work like this.

Meet Mochi. 🐾 A calm day in the chamber for this little guy during his hyperbaric session. Some of our favorite patients are the small ones who settle right in and relax through the whole thing.

Not many veterinarians on planet Earth can tell you more about HBOT than Stella FisioVet

REPOST:
In veterinary physiatry, recovering function also depends on the conditions in which the tissue is recovering.
Trauma, surgeries, complex wounds, inflammation, edema and changes in circulation can compromise local oxygenation and hinder important processes for repair.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy uses oxygen in a pressurized environment to increase its availability in the body. This increase can favor mechanisms related to healing, angiogenesis, cellular activity, inflammation control and response to infectious processes.
Therefore, the hyperbaric chamber can be an important adjuvant therapy in certain patients, especially when oxygenation or tissue recovery is compromised.
In physiotherapy, however, the ultimate goal remains the recovery of the function. Oxygen therapy can contribute to preparing the biological path while other strategies work mobility, strength, coordination and functional capacity.

AMPUTATION was the plan. It didn’t happen. 🫧
A limb usually isn’t lost because it can’t heal — it’s lost because it can’t get oxygen. Swelling shuts the capillaries. Anaerobes thrive where oxygen stopped arriving. Grafts fail without perfusion.
At 2.0 ATA, oxygen dissolves into plasma and reaches what circulation can’t.
HVM originated the veterinary hyperbaric chamber in 2011. 100,000+ cases worldwide, 150+ indications.

Today we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger — and the more than 300 search-and-rescue dogs who worked tirelessly alongside them in the days that followed. We will never forget.
