👉 Literal translation: To travel to Tula with your own samovar.
👉 English Equivalent/Meaning: To carry coals to Newcastle. To do something redundant, unnecessary, or pointless by bringing or providing something to a place that already has plenty of it.

Origin:
Tula is a Russian city famous historically as a major center for manufacturing metal goods, especially samovars (traditional metal containers used to heat water for tea). Bringing your own samovar to Tula is like bringing water to the ocean; the city is already full of them.
