The promise of agentic AI is simple: less time spent managing tasks and more time focused on higher-value work.
As Micron SVP & GM, Core Data Center Business Unit, Jeremy Werner explains, agentic AI runs on two compute stacks, not one. The GPU reasons and plans, while the CPU orchestrates actions. Technologies like KV cache keep AI context available, but growing context sizes and agentic workloads are driving memory needs far beyond reasoning alone. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4Ar3Nfn

AI doesn't process text word-by-word. Instead, it breaks language into smaller pieces called tokens. As a rule of thumb, 100 tokens is roughly 75 words.
But once text is converted into tokens, how does AI know what comes next? A language model doesn't rely on experience the way humans do. Instead, it navigates an entirely different space: the embedding space.
This is where words, concepts and relationships are encoded in ways that help AI recognize patterns and predict what comes next. It's also where the idea of AI "knowledge" becomes much more interesting.
Discover how meaning is represented in this space and explore what "knowledge" really means for AI. 👉 https://bit.ly/4h6P15N

Have you ever wondered how high-end robot vacuums manage to navigate around pet toys, shoes, and stray charging cables without getting tangled up?
It’s not just a camera; it’s working at lightning speed. But for that AI to actually prevent a collision, it requires incredibly fast memory. Here is how it works:
When a robot vacuum rolls through your living room, its camera is capturing video at roughly 30 to 60 frames every single second. If the vacuum had to send that video feed to a cloud server to ask, "Is that a power cord?", the internet delay (latency) would mean the wheels would run over the cord before the AI could ever say "STOP!"
To prevent this, the AI has to run completely offline, right inside the vacuum itself.
That's where the memory comes in. The vacuum uses ultra-fast memory to catch, process, and analyze those 30+ frames per second quickly. The memory allows the neural processor to identify a hazard in a fraction of a millisecond.
The faster the memory, the faster the vacuum hits the brakes! 🛑

As another incredible season comes to a close, we're celebrating the students who spent their summer with Micron.
Over the past few months, our interns brought fresh perspectives, tackled meaningful projects, explored emerging technologies, and worked alongside our Micron team members to help shape the future of innovation.
At Micron, we believe these innovators will help define what's possible, and it has been a privilege to be part of their journey.
To all of our interns: thank you for your curiosity, creativity, and contributions. As you head back to school and into your next chapter, we're excited to see what you'll accomplish next.
Every time an employee asks an assistant to summarize a six-month email thread, analyze a 200-page contract, or answer questions across thousands of project documents, they're expecting something remarkable: memory.
The AI isn't just processing the latest prompt. It's recalling context, tracking details, and connecting information across an expanding body of data. That ability to remember is powered by one of the fastest-growing and least visible resources in AI infrastructure: the .
What began as a technical optimization is evolving into one of the defining infrastructure challenges of the AI era.

Ever wonder why memory plays such an important role in helping run smoothly on your smartphone? Let’s break it down.
Imagine snapping a photo of the contents of your fridge so an on-device AI can instantly generate a custom recipe. To do this quickly and privately (without sending data to the cloud), AI has to unpack a lot of data.
📱 Your phone’s OS and background apps already take up around 4GB to 6GB of memory.
📲 A highly capable AI model optimized for a phone can take up another several GB just to exist.
📸 The AI needs an extra 1GB to 2GB of memory to process your photo and write out the recipe.
When there isn’t enough memory, the phone is forced to shut down your background apps to make room to generate the recipe, causing your phone to stutter or freeze. More memory means the AI and your apps can run side by side, smoothly.
That's why 12GB and beyond of memory is emerging as a sweet spot for AI smartphones!
