Meet Priscilla, a 12-year-old senior queen! 👑

Priscilla is a typical tortie, which means she comes with beauty….sweetness….and plenty of tortitude. She knows exactly what she wants, and she's not shy about letting you know when she doesn't agree with something. But hey, when you're an old lady, you're allowed a little attitude, right?

First impressions aren’t exactly Priscilla’s forte. She may greet you with an unimpressed stare, ignore you completely, or even offer a little tail swish when you first meet. But give this old lady the time and patience she deserves, and you’ll discover a sassy and sweet girl who enjoys gentle pets, purrs, and quiet company.

Priscilla likes affection on her own terms and will let you know when she’s had enough. She’s an independent girl who would love a quiet home where she can spend her days relaxing in a cozy spot. Naps are one of her favorite pastimes, after all. She would do best in a calm home without young children, other cats, or dogs.

Simply Cats is a wonderful place for cats to wait for their next family, but even with our best efforts, shelter life comes with a lot of unpredictability. New sounds, unfamiliar smells, and constant comings and goings can make it hard for any cat to truly let down their guard. For a senior like Priscilla, we hope someone will be willing to look past that first impression and give her the chance she deserves.

She doesn’t need constant entertainment or excitement. She’s just looking for a patient, peaceful home with a warm bed, good food, and someone who understands her boundaries and appreciates her for exactly who she is.

Priscilla deserves a place to spend her golden years feeling comfortable, understood, and loved. We hope someone will see past her sass, give this senior queen a chance, and offer her a loving home for her next chapter.

WE NEED MORE BLANKETS! Specifically, adoption blankets for the cardboard adoption boxes our cats go home in.

Blankets should be double-layered and sewn together using any materials such as fleece, with a finished size of at least 24” x 14”. Crocheted or knitted blankets are also welcome!

Don’t sew but still want to help? We’re also accepting donations of materials for our volunteers to turn into adoption blankets.

Every cat adopted from Simply Cats goes home with a cozy blanket to provide comfort and familiarity during their transition to a new home. These blankets can help ease stress during transport and give them a familiar scent to snuggle with once they arrive home.

We find homes for nearly 1,000 cats and kittens each year, so adoption blankets are an ongoing need. If you’d like to help, this is a great project to do from the comfort of your couch!

After more than five months of waiting, one of our longest-staying residents, D***y, has finally found his forever home! 🧡

This sweet boy first arrived at Simply Cats back in April after his family had to move. During his stay, D***y went through multiple room changes, plenty of “almosts,” and a lot of waiting. He started out very nervous and shy, then blossomed into a sweet, roly-poly boy. Over time, the long wait began to wear on him, and he was really struggling with shelter stress, becoming more standoffish and extra sassy. But last Saturday, that wait came to an end!

While D***y gave his new dad a smack or two, they still felt they could give him the home he needed. D***y is now the king of his castle, where he can finally fully relax and continue showing off his adorable little blep for years to come.

D***y now goes by Colby, and his adopters shared that “he really opened up the day after he came home.” They also sent us some adorable photos and a video of him living his best life.

Be a good boy, Colby! We’ll miss seeing your fluffy belly and little blep.

84 cats and kittens found their forever homes last month! 🎉

We’re especially happy to share that 15-year-old Venus is now spending her golden years with a loving family after waiting nearly two months for a home. Venus was found roaming the streets as a stray, emaciated and weighing just over four pounds, before arriving to Simply Cats. Now, she gets to enjoy all the comforts of home.

D***y, our August Everyone Needs a Home sponsored cat, also found his family! He was one of our longer-staying residents and had been with us for several months. Keep an eye out for an adoption update later today to hear how he’s doing in his new home.

Hi, I’m a confident 12-year-old senior lady! If I were a human, I'd be your favorite grandma. I'm sweet, personable, and because I'm a little hard of hearing, I'm extra good at keeping secrets. Tell me anything. I promise I won't share.

I came to Simply Cats because of my person's health issues. As the ultimate granny cat, I've settled right into what I do best: relaxing and cuddling. I have a raspy purr, just like the hum of an old car engine. The volunteers here call me a purr machine, and honestly, it doesn't take much to get my motor going.

A good nap is one of life's simple pleasures, and my happiest spot in any home is right next to you. Whether it's the couch, the bed, or a cozy chair, I like to stay close to my person. I also love looking out the window to keep tabs on the neighborhood. Count on me to be your unofficial neighborhood watch.

I can't knit or bake cookies (darn these paws), but I promise to keep up my grandma duties in every other way. I'll keep you comforted, warm, and never short on love or hope, of course!

We'd like to give a HUGE thank you to Clear Lines for generously donating their supplies and services to give our parking lot a much-needed makeover!

Our parking stalls were in serious need of a refresh, and the difference is incredible! If you look at the before and after photos, you can see just how much the fresh striping and newly painted fire lane curbs have transformed our parking lot, all at no cost to us.
