Saint Christopher, please pray for us. Amen!

Jesus set the book of nature before me and I saw that all the flowers he has created are lovely. The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of its scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. I realized that if every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness and there would be no wildflowers to make the meadows gay. It is just the same in the world of souls – which is the garden of Jesus. He has created the great saints who are like the lilies and the roses, but he has also created much lesser saints and they must be content to be the daisies or the violets which rejoice his eyes whenever he glances down. Perfection consists in doing his will, in being that which he wants us to be. Jesus, help me to simplify my life by learning what you want me to be – and becoming that person.

AND THE SUN CAME
 (Copyright 1988)
Art by Paul Nzalamba
 Story by Lungala Rubadiri

Three ladies dancing on the hills of western Uganda… In the background the hills are dry and yellow; in the foreground the hills are prosperous and green.
On the ladies skirt are patterns of corn, millet and string beans… three of the several different crops grown in Uganda.
We as human beings, cant control the way that seasons come and go...but we can certainly control how we react ro them.
One should never worry when times seem tough,… ….prosperity and joy will always come to prevail.
The Sun will always shine again!…..
…..AND THE SUN CAME!!

St. Actus Carlos Church in Pakistan was able to raise funds for their new Tabernacle, altar, chairs, and sacristy cupboard by next month.

Father Riaz Haroon said the major work that is still remaining is painting the interior and exterior of the church and installing carpet.

The local community is not able to undertake this major work on its own because most of the people in the parish are extremely poor. They work in brick kilns, as farmers and sanitary workers, while some earn their living by driving donkey carts. Many families live from hand to mouth and struggle every day to meet even their basic needs.
Father is hoping to have the church ready for its inauguration and blessing by a bishop in November. Ge humbly requesting our support in helping us complete the painting and carpeting work before the inauguration.
The estimated costs are:
Painting work (inside and outside): USD 1,175
Carpet: USD 666
Total: USD 1,841
Father and his parish community would be deeply grateful for any support we can provide toward this important work. Your generous contribution would help complete the church and provide this poor community with a beautiful and dignified place of worship.
In Father’s very own words, “Thank you very much for your kindness, prayers, and continued support. May God bless you abundantly.” Fr. Riaz Haroon, Immaculate Conception Parish, Toba Tek Singh.
