Boise State’s athletic department reported a $2 million budget deficit for fiscal year 2026 to the Idaho State Board of Education at an Aug. 13 meeting, warning that the deficit could reach $18 million in 2027.

The Idaho State Board of Education announced Dr. David Hahn as Boise State University’s eighth president on in a unanimous vote at Wednesday’s special meeting.
Hahn is set to receive an annual salary of $480,000. His contract includes a monthly housing allowance of $9,000, a yearly automobile allowance of $9,200 and eligibility for up to $15,000 in relocation expenses.
Coming to Boise State with nearly three decades of experience in higher education and served as the University of Arizona’s College of Engineering dean before coming to The Blue.

The Idaho State Board of Education named Dr. David Hahn the sole finalist in the search for Boise State University’s next president. On Tuesday, Idaho media outlets were invited to meet with Hahn to discuss his candidacy.

After a yearlong search conducted largely behind closed doors, Boise State University has officially announced a sole presidential finalist.
At this morning’s Idaho State Board of Education Meeting, Dr. David Hahn was identified as the sole finalist for the role of Boise State’s president, a decision search committee chair David Turnbull says the board is “confident” in.
