Unfortunately I have seen some terrible information on social media coming from campaigns in the past few days. I am sure their intention was strong, but it is really important that our local voters get accurate information from their local election authority on how and when they can vote and in what manner.
Please have your voice heard. You can vote by mail, early vote, or vote on election day. But your voice means something this election and EVERY election. Candidates in this election hopefully have introduced themselves to you, but if they didn't please go read about them and do your research.

Note: Local non-partisan elections ARE NOT this November! This November are all the partisan offices. Non-Partisan elections for offices like park board, village/city/town board, library board, etc. happen in '27 and again in '29!

We got an unexpected air show today in ! According to NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command), at least 15 aircraft violated the temporary flight restrictions (TDRs) over the area for the President's visit to Chicagoland - and in 10 of those instances, fighter jets performed intercepts to gain the attention of the pilots.
In two of those intercepts, the NORAD jets used flares to get the pilots’ attention, though the department says the flares burn out quickly and pose no danger to the public.
I have seen many social media tributes to John Davin today, and they all had me reminiscing about our times together. I started looking through the pictures and videos I had on my phone, and one thing became very clear ... John was everywhere.
Maybe you saw John at our annual Pathways Parade. Maybe you saw him at the Community Center at the VFW Post 5917 Office. Maybe at the Cavalcade of Planes. Maybe you saw him selling light-ups at the Wednesday Night Summer Concerts in Bolingbrook. Maybe you saw him at the Queen of Hearts raffle at Tailgaters. Of course the Veterans Day and Memorial Day ceremonies. But chances are, if you were in Bolingbrook, you saw John.
He was everywhere because he cared deeply about this community, and because he never stopped serving ... especially when it came to supporting and raising funds for our veterans.
John was a leader, a veteran, and a friend.
One thing John said to me over the years has always stuck with me. He would remind me that Memorial Day (and Memorial Day weekend) wasn't a "happy" occasion. It was a solemn time to honor and remember those that gave their life for this country. He always reminded folks to not say "Happy" Memorial Day ... because nothing was happy about that day.
John made sure people understood that freedom isn't free. He didn't just say those words. He lived them.
John dedicated so much of his life to serving others, honoring veterans, remembering the fallen, and making Bolingbrook a better community. His presence was constant, his commitment was unmistakable, and his impact will remain long after his passing.
These are just a very few moments from a life defined by service that I had captured on my phone throughout the years!
Thank you, John, for your friendship. Thank you for the lessons and reminders. Thank you for always showing up. And most importantly, thank you for your service to our country, to our veterans, and to our Bolingbrook community. Rest in peace, John. 🇺🇸
Sincerely,
Village of Bolingbrook Trustee Michael Carpanzano

BFD OPEN HOUSE IS BACK! One of the Bolingbrook Fire Department’s biggest community events of the year is coming up, and this is your chance to experience BFD from the inside.
Join us Saturday, October 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fire Station #4, 1111 W. Boughton Road for our annual Fire Prevention Week Open House.
This is much more than a tour of the firehouse. Our firefighters and specialty teams will be conducting demonstrations throughout the day, giving families an up-close look at the equipment, training, and teamwork that go into protecting our community. Climb up for a closer look at the apparatus, meet the firefighters who ride them, ask questions, and get involved. We want this to be an interactive day for the whole family.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.” We’ll have practical fire safety information families can take home, especially as rechargeable batteries become part of more of the devices, tools, toys, bikes, and scooters we use every day.
And if you’ve ever thought about becoming a firefighter/paramedic, don’t just follow BFD on social media. Come meet us. Talk with our firefighters about the job, see the equipment and specialty opportunities firsthand, and get a better idea of what a career serving Bolingbrook actually looks like. You might walk into Station 4 as a visitor and leave thinking a little differently about your future.
Bring the kids, bring your questions, and plan to spend some time with us. This is your fire department, and for one day we’re opening the doors and inviting Bolingbrook in.
đź“… Saturday, October 3 | 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
📍 Fire Station #4 | 1111 W. Boughton Road
