Congratulations to Massachusetts Port Authority Fire-Rescue on the delivery of their new Squad 1!

Squad 1 is a 2026 Ford F-550 / Rosenbauer mini-pumper that is uniquely equipped with a LiquidSpring LLC four-wheel ride adjustment system specifically engineered to allow this unit to reduce it's standard ride height from 7' 4" to as little as 6' 8". It's primary mission will be vehicle fires in the parking garages, areas under the concourses, baggage areas, etc. where clearance heights can be problematic for full-size apparatus.

Many, many hours of special engineering and design effort went into this unit, which is the first of it's kind in the country. We look forward to seeing the new Squad 1 go into service shortly protecting the travelers and employees of Boston-Logan International Airport.

This Police Woman’s Day, we recognize the women of the Massport Port Police who help keep our communities safe.

After beginning her career at Massport as a Port Officer Trainee/EMT, Meghan now serves as a Sergeant/EMT, helping to protect Massport's facilities and the communities we serve. She shares what makes her work meaningful and why she chose a career in public safety.

Today, the Command Staff and on-duty crews of Massport Fire-Rescue stood together in a moment of silence to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Twenty-five years later, we pause to honor the 2,977 lives lost, including the 343 members of the FDNY who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call.

We remember the courage of the first responders, the innocent lives taken, the families forever changed, and the extraordinary unity and selflessness shown in the days that followed.

For those of us who serve at Boston Logan International Airport—a place forever connected to the events of that morning—the significance of September 11th carries a profound meaning.

We will never forget.
