✨ We’re honored to be featured by Ascend at the Aspen Institute in their latest Solutions Spotlight highlighting the Health by Wealth Collective. 

What started at StreetCred at Boston Medical Center, integrating financial well-being into healthcare, has grown into a national learning community supporting organizations across the country in building medical-financial partnerships. 

The Health by Wealth Collective exists because economic stability is a powerful driver of health. By helping healthcare organizations embed services like free tax preparation, benefits enrollment, financial coaching, and other economic mobility supports into clinical settings, we’re working together to improve outcomes for children and families.

What if a pediatric clinic could prescribe tax credits just like asthma inhalers?  

At the 2026 Pediatrics Research & Scholarship Day, co-authors Bella Prince and Annanya Agarwal presented StreetCred’s work examining how embedded VITA tax services within pediatric healthcare settings can improve access to critical financial resources for families facing economic barriers. 

Clinic-based economic interventions like StreetCred demonstrate how healthcare systems can address social drivers of health beyond the exam room. 

Last month, the StreetCred team was proud to participate in PAS 2026 () in Boston, where we shared our work, learned alongside pediatric leaders from across the country, and continued important conversations about supporting children and families beyond the clinic walls. 

Our leadership team (Dr. Lucy Marcil & Dr. Rachel Sagor) helped co-facilitate the workshop, “Nonprofit 101: How to Launch and Lead Programs for Kids,” which focused on empowering pediatricians and child health advocates to turn evidence into durable, community-rooted solutions for children. 

We were also excited to celebrate two poster presentations led by our research assistants:

“Embedding the StreetCred Economic Bundle into Pediatric Primary Care: An Implementation Approach to Address Childhood Poverty and Promote Lifelong Well-Being” 

📌 Maria Paula Gomez presented: 
“Enhancing Recruitment and Retention by Diversifying Research Staff to Include Marginalized Populations for Studies on Sensitive Topics” 

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share, collaborate, and continue advancing research and programs that promote economic mobility and child well-being.

Big moment for the StreetCred team 👏

Last November, our Medical Director, Dr. Rachel Sagor, and Career Navigation Coach, Beatrice Dorzin, presented at the 2025 Fall Summit in Boston, hosted by the Hunger to Health Collaboratory.

Alongside a StreetCred family, they shared the “StreetCred Client Experience”, bringing real voices and real impact to the conversation around health equity.

Thank you to the for convening leaders across healthcare, food systems, and community organizations to advance innovative, cross-sector solutions that support whole-person and family well-being.

We’re proud to be doing this work and even prouder to have been recognized as a 2024 Prize of Innovation winner, receiving $100,000 to help scale our impact.
