Behind every great team is a commitment to never stop learning. 💙
Earlier this month, members of the Community Autism Services team attended the Hawaiʻi Association for Behavior Analysis (HABA) Convention as a proud Silver Sponsor. The conference was an opportunity to learn from industry leaders, exchange ideas with fellow professionals, and explore the latest evidence-based practices in ABA.
Our team also had the chance to connect outside of the conference at a BCBA dinner, creating more opportunities to share ideas, strengthen professional relationships, and learn from one another.
Experiences like these help our clinicians continue growing in their work and bring new knowledge and perspectives back to the children and families we serve.

Meet Adrianna, one of our incredible Behavior Therapists! 💙
Over the past year, Adrianna has had the opportunity to implement SBT with four different clients, each with their own interests, personalities, and learning profiles.
What stands out most is her willingness to learn, ask questions, and understand the “why” behind the strategies she uses. She welcomes feedback, adapts when needed, and brings a positive, can-do attitude even when the work gets challenging.
We’re proud to celebrate Adrianna and the care, curiosity, and commitment she brings to her clients and our team every day!

We had such a great time connecting with families at Discovery Cube’s Annual Health Fair! 💙
On August 1 and 8, our San Fernando Valley team joined other local organizations to share resources and connect with families in the community.
We brought back our superhero-themed activity from Aut2Run, and it was a big hit! Kids had fun creating their own superhero masks and taking photos with our props while parents had the chance to learn more about Community Autism Services and the support we provide.
We’re grateful for opportunities like these to connect with families, share resources, and create a fun, welcoming space for kids.

Sometimes communication takes a little more time. 💙
When your child doesn't answer right away, try:
-Pause. Give them a few extra seconds to process and respond.
-Keep it simple. Use short, clear language and avoid asking multiple questions at once.
-Try another way. Offer a gesture, visual, choice, or model to give your child another way to communicate.
A little extra time and flexibility can create more opportunities for connection.

A few moments from our Pasadena Open House 💙
It was great to welcome families and community members into our center, connect with new faces, and share more about Community Autism Services.
We’re grateful for everyone who stopped by and look forward to continuing to grow our Sacramento community!
Communication can look different for every child. 💙 Whether your child uses words, gestures, visuals, signs, or another way to communicate, there are everyday opportunities to support their communication skills at home.
Here are 5 simple ways to get started:
1. Follow their interests
Join your child in activities they already enjoy and use those moments to encourage interaction.
2. Offer choices
Instead of asking an open-ended question, offer two options and give your child a chance to communicate their preference.
3. Give them time
Pause and give your child extra time to respond, without rushing to fill the silence.
4. Model communication
Use simple words, gestures, or visuals to show your child different ways they can communicate.
5. Celebrate every attempt
Communication is more than saying the “right” word. Recognize and encourage every effort to connect and express a need.
Small moments throughout the day can create meaningful opportunities for communication and connection.
