We’re bringing 617 Country back to The Grove for six more weeks of outdoor line dancing while the weather is still dreamy. Whether you danced with us last season or have never tried line dancing before, come learn some new moves, meet new people, and spend your Wednesday evening grooving outside.

🗞️ One last spotlight for Volume 24! 🐸 Meet Lionel J. Frogby (the “J” stands for “just a little guy”), the lovable adventurer created by artist Alexandra Gallant-Lee. In this playful mixed-media piece, Frogby journeys through a winding forest creek, meeting a few fellow creatures along the way.

Alexandra Gallant-Lee is an award-winning cartoonist, illustrator, sculptor, and science communicator whose colorful work is fueled by science, nature, technology, and curiosity.

🎣🪁 Have you found the eel yet? Sadie Saunders’s print began with a simple idea: draw something delightful. Inspired by a love of eels and dramatic lighting, the result is a playful scene that’s hard not to smile at.

Sadie Saunders is a cartoonist, educator, and community organizer whose work centers joy, humor, and storytelling.

Headed to the Rat City Arts Festival this weekend at the The Charles River Speedway? Don’t forget to bring a few quarters. 🪙🐀 Just down the street at Pavement Coffeehouse, you can pick up Cat and Mouse by Freddy Thomas.

With playful shapes and plenty of personality, this whimsical composition is strange, charming, and a reminder that art can simply be fun.

Freddy Thomas is a q***r interdisciplinary artist working across printmaking, fibers, and installation.

Meet Volume 24 artist Isabelle Higgins. 🍜🌊 A Feast began as one of Isabelle’s first experiments with gouache and painting water. Created during a period of uncertainty, the self-portrait became a playful and hopeful way back into making art.

Isabelle is a Boston-based painter whose work explores atmosphere, color, and imagination.

We’ve just refilled all of our Art in Print bins with the remaining batch of Volume 24 posters. If you’ve been meaning to start your collection, or you’re still hunting for a favorite, now’s the time to get out and explore. Once these prints are gone, they’re gone!

Meet Saira Munshani whose print, Working Theory, brings together science, nature, and storytelling to explore how knowledge evolves over time. A growing plant winds through competing scientific models, connecting discovery, curiosity, and the natural world.

Here and there is a mixed-media artist whose work bridges science and lived experience. She’s drawn to the patterns that show up at every scale, such as branching, symmetry, recursion, and iteration. Using discarded materials and outdated textbooks, she works mostly in collage and watercolor.

🍉🥝🍊 What might fruit look like in the future? Leah Netsky’s Triangular Melons imagine a world where cultivation and creativity reshape the foods we know. Part science fiction, part playful observation, the piece comes from her ongoing Future Fruit series.

Leah Netsky uses photographs as a material to create larger works. Pairing images with other images, as well as digital or mechanical processes and products, she explores the growing interaction between animal and plant life, science, and technology.
